Members Soaplovers
You are correct that Marin Gazzaniga was going to be the new head writer of PP's OLTL had it continued. She had been one of the final people that had done the soap writing program at ABC before it was discontinued and apparently she was contributing well in the writers room. Members BoldRestless
Thank you! The context is helpful. So I suppose it makes more financial sense to consolidate all of these positions (he's also EP isn't he, lol) into one person and one contract and just pay him per breakdown. Members dragonflies
YR and BOLD both have renewals through 2024, this can't bode well for the show IMO
Members YRfan23
Holy F#%%!!! Please register in order to view this content I was hoping this was news that Griffith was fired….Everyone has basically said it but clearly CBS/SONY wants to bury this show before it can get to 65 years…Griffith has no clue what’s he’s doing and this is gonna just be more of a nothing show then it already is…even worse then that though. Members j swift
I was interested in the tidbit about the WGA negotiations in article, so I wanted to search further. Three interesting things about his relationship to the union. First, as already mentioned, in 2007 he took fi-core status during the writer's strike, in order to become the head writer and interim executive producer. Then, 2008, TVGuide.ca broke news suggesting CBS chief Barbara Bloom was angling to replace Griffith because he was re-writing Maria Arena Bell’s scripts. However, after the Writers Guild of America sent a cease-and-desist letter to the Y&R studios, “Josh stopped hijacking scripts immediately, but everyone still wanted him fired,” points out a snitch. And finally, in 2022, the WGA nominated Amanda Beall for writing for Y&R, and omitted his name. Members mikelyons
This show is a joke. It once had a budget of over $100m a year (that was into the 21st century) and now we're reduced to firing the breakdown writers? Shame. Brad Bell fired the actress who played Sally from B&B, but Margo Wain loved her, so she put her on Y&R. Now, thanks to Josh, it's the Sally Spectra Show. I find it unwatchable & I don't see it getting any better.
Members Vee
Maria Arena Bell has not been at the show since 2012. The article from Branco dates back to '08. But yes, Griffith's relationship with the show and its personnel has been fractious for years. It's been suggested his relationships at CBS (Steve Kent?) and keeping the show functional are what keep him in place. Members Liberty City
This is BAD. Real BAD. Do people still think he's the one who is going to "safe" this soap? Because, he won't. He did not before and will not now.
Members kalbir
Oh what a mess. Sad to see a show that I have loved for so long reduced to this.

Members Faulkner
It’s unwatchable and I actually like CH a lot. They’ve gone through hoops to make that character fit into this show. Just appalling the state of this show as it approaches what should be a milestone anniversary.
Members Soapsuds
I truly wish CBS would just cancel YR. It's been on life support for many years. Just pull the plug! Please register in order to view this content
