ARTICLE: REPORT: Marcus Coloma OUT as Nikolas Cassadine on ‘General Hospital’

When Marcus Coloma suddenly unfollowed everyone on social media last week, including his fellow castmates, fans began questioning what might be happening behind the scenes with the “General Hospital” actor. Now comes word that Coloma has been let go as Nikolas Cassadine on the daytime drama series.

According to a report by Daytime Confidential, despite being involved in several front burner storylines, Coloma’s time on the soap has ended, and the actor “declined to film his final scenes after learning he’d been let go.” 

Joining the soap in 2019 as the third contract player to take on the role of the gothic prince, Coloma made his television acting debut in the MTV series “Undressed.” He later had recurring roles in such shows as “All About Us,” “Point Pleasant” and “Make It or Break It,” among others. In 2006, he starred in UPN’s “South Beach” alongside singer/actress Vanessa Williams. Coloma appeared in the films “Material Girls” starring Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff, “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2” and “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta!”

At press time, Coloma has not commented on his reported exit.

As its policy, ABC does not comment on actor contracts.

Correct. I mistakenly left my VPN on and it didn't show up for me. Only his page. 

That said, anyone who was following him gets error messages. So I think he blocked people if anything.

Refused to film his last scenes and the massive unfollowing make me think that there were some BTS issues happening.  It’s also very unprofessional.

I hope the role is recast, really hope Tyler gets a chance.

Interesting. The Soap Opera Network Instagram and people at other outlets told me the same thing about that error message. Did he block the media AND his GH cast? Weird.

I would not be shocked if he did Errol, if what is being said is true him not returning to finish up his scenes, this seems on point lol

I definitely think if Tyler is up to it, he should get first choice.

 

Otherwise, they could use that recent recast Adam Huss because he definitely had the right vibe as Nikolas.

I've never followed him (and barely use social media at all) so I can access his IG and he still appears to be following zero people. He must have nuked them all.

He commented that he wouldn't take the role on contract again because he felt it could affect his sobriety, at least that's what's has been said lately

When did he say that? I can believe that he felt that way early in recovery (or even right now) but I'm not sure it's a permanent thing.

I would welcome TC back if he is sober, well and prepared to work hard vs. just filling space as he has at times whether he's sober or off the wagon. When he's on he can be great even with bad writing, and nobody has done the part better. When he's bored or otherwise altered he's a test pattern. But I'd only want him back if it's not going to jeopardize his health and sobriety. That may not be appropriate now but it could be in the future.
