Yeah, I didn't know what that was he smashed. I thought John was aggravated and saw that a staff member was early decorating for the holidays. It looked like a miniature tree with little bow ornaments.

Drake doesn't bother me at all, but I swear he used to be a little better.  Not good, but more restrained?  Now he does whatever he wants lol.  In the 80's and 90's he wasn't this OTT, but by 2000 all bets were off.

Very true.  Drake's only on a few days a month if you actually look at numbers and it must be fun to do something besides fight Orpheus and tell Marlena how much you love her all the time.  John's scenes don't really have much variety, so it was nice to see something different for him.

Agreed.  That's why he never bothers me.  You know he wants to be on Days and he's trying to entertain us.  And, honestly, he's just so likable it's hard to say anything that negative about him.

Yeah.

I think we talked about this in the Beyond Salem thread. It must get tiresome after a while acting in the same style in every episode. Giving Drake something different to do showed how good he could be.

Steve Burton is probably in the same boat.

I thought of that at the time.

I'm not comfortable suddenly plopping SB down in same or similar. When he played Jason Quartermaine, the Golden Boy, he had a whole range of acting choices to play. If he didn't want to play Traumatic Brain Damaged Jason Morgan he could talk to them at GH, or he could've if he still worked there. I didn't even want him near the DOOL franchise. I resented his being in every other scene. He was my only real criticism of BS2.
