Nearly every daytime broadcast series improved week to week in Total Viewers during the week of March 7-11, 2022. The exceptions were both half hours of “Let’s Make a Deal,” “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna”* and “General Hospital,” which shed a mere -1,000 viewers compared to one week earlier.

“The Young and the Restless” (3.441 million) improved for the second week in a row despite preemptions on the West Coast on Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9 due to CBS Sports coverage of the “UEFA Champions League” games. The same can be said for “The Bold and the Beautiful” (2.936 million) which was also preempted on the West Coast on both days.

The second half-hour of “Let’s Make a Deal” (2.863 million) lost -16,000 viewers week to week while the first half-hour (2.479 million) lost -50,000 viewers due to “UEFA” coverage, more so due to stations on both the West Coast and East Coast which typically airs the show in the afternoon slot after “The Talk.” Speaking of the daytime talk show, the series did not air on Tuesday or Wednesday due to “UEFA” coverage. Despite that, the show was up +12,000 viewers week to week, averaging 1.482 million viewers.

Compared to one week earlier, “Days of our Lives” (1.713 million) improved its numbers in both Women 18-49 and Women 25-54. However, it remained in 11th place in Women 18-49 rating while tying “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna” (1.604 million) for 10th place in Women 25-54, both with a 0.41 rating.

“General Hospital” (2.198 million) and “GMA3: What You Need to Know” (1.726 million) remained the only daytime broadcast shows to see improvement among Total Viewers compared to their 2020 numbers.

What follows is a breakdown of how the daytime broadcast shows performed during the week of March 7-011, 2022 in Women 18-49 rating, Women 25-54 rating, Households and Total Viewers, including a look at their comparable performance in 2020. A closer look at the daytime soaps, including their daily performance in the demos, will be posted soon.

Note: Year to Year comparisons are currently unavailable due to a gap in data received by Soap Opera Network one year earlier. Comparisons to 2021 figures will return in a few weeks. Comparable 2020 figures for “GMA3: What Need to Know” are based on the performance of “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke” which was later canceled, effective March 2020.
