GH: August Spoilers

I had meant to start this thread earlier. The show is pretty good right now and we have some different things coming up. I had wanted to share spoilers I found for this month (from places like TV Guide.com) There are some from TV guide.com regarding the party and Sprina that will happen starting tomorrow and going into next week. As well as spoilers for other characters for the next couple of weeks....

Sprina/the party: Starting tomorrow, Spencer and Cam will get ready for Spencer's party. Next week Spencer's party will end up being more than he bargained for. He will end up being backed into a corner on Tuesday. He will end up being surprised by Trina's kindness on Wednesday, and she will end up consoling him after they get another surprise. She will also try and deny her feelings for him but Joss will know better.

Sounds like we got some good Sprina content and scenes coming up. Maybe they will have their first kiss. And it does seem like Nikolas will go through with his party and really embarrass Spencer. I think that Spencer will end up being upset by that and there are spoilers that Laura will end up being furious with Nikolas and give him tough love. I don't think that Laura will like him embarrassing Spencer publicly in front of everyone. Laura will also end up receiving alarming news later on. Spencer will also end up paying Alexis a visit on the week of the 23rd.

Ava/Nikolas- next week Ava will end up seeking Kevin's professional opinion, and will be haunted by her past. She will end up making a desperate move and the following week of the 23rd will tell Nikolas a heartbreaking decision.

Sam/Drew-Sam will also receive an unsettling phone call and will end up being in disbelief. (Drew reaches out to her by phone call). Sam will ask Curtis for help. She will also seek out Anna's help.

Jason/Carly/Jax/Britt-Jax will once confront Carly again next week. Carly will look to Jason to deal with him. Jason will be forced to defend her. Jax will find an unlikely ally in Obrecht. And Carly and Jason will be determined to move forward with their wedding plans. Britt will face the consequences of her actions, Liz will inadvertently cause tension between Britt and Terry, and Britt and Obrecht will celebrate good news.

Brook Lynn/Chase/Willow- Chase and Willow will share a bittersweet moment. Later Brook Lynn will end up questioning Chase's actions. Willow will prepare to come clean to Chase and will face him.

Maxie/Austin- Maxie return and have a heart wrenching meeting with Valentin and baby "Bailey". Scott will also notice that Austin has taken an interest in her. Austin will also see Michael in a new light.

Nixon Falls- Sonny will make an interesting acquaintance, Nina will receive an unwelcome visitor and reach out for help.

I like most of it for the most part. I still think the overall "focus" remains tone deaf and geared towards the pets but the writers are still trying to make it all work, even if I'm starting to have some issues with it.

I have no interest in grandpa Austin with Maxie. Lord. This show is deliberately trolling us. They HAVE to be.

Same.

It's too bad because this character, ignoring the Howarth casting, could have had a lot of potential. Especially in the mix of this Mildew/Chase drama and the Brook/Maxie baby switch. But of course it's Howarth and ... sigh. I really did try to give him a chance again in a new role but I'm over it.

I agree. There be too many moments that just scream soap opera and that they get it (the wedding, Tracy's visits, the current stuff with Willow/Michael/Chase, Spencer's return) and then there be clear ugh in the direction. And it goes downhill.

    • That was my point really. These anniversary party scenes are the first ones, and now they won't be able to use them (meaning these actual scenes, as aired, with OG Ted). They can recreate them but I doubt they will spring for all the extras to come back and film and recreate everything, so it will be more like tight closed in shots of Ted with one or two other actors, or snippets of Leslie's original speech where Ted wasn't visible. It would be hard to recapture the original energy of the scenes are as they were filmed in their full context. I just think that's too bad, but maybe they will prove me wrong. I never really saw what was so off in his portrayal to warrant a recast, anyway, so that colors my perception as well.
    • Yeah, and quite honestly, are there really that many scenes that are flashback-worthy at this point in the run?
    • I know at one point they were on Hulu & i-Tunes. I just checked it on JustWatch.com & it indicates 1 season on Prime Video & on AppleTV. Have fun!
    • That era is so weird...they made a big deal out of all three of those characters and then they just..disappeared! Not that I am complaining. We talk about the bad out of character writing for Alex under JFP..but this was one example that may have led them to write her being so obsessive with Nick.  WHY would Alex accept Flock of Seagulls guy as her brother? They had her in one scene (setting up the Alan return) complain that Alan abandoned her...she blackmailed him into leaving town and she had been angry at him for helping Brandon with Lujack and also using Spaulding for that dumb dreaming death thing. Endless scenes of her with Simon, I can't believe Bev wasn't bored to death! I would also add Pam writing the scene where she lets Ms. Sally die in front of her to protect Alan and  the writing for Alex could be screwy even before JFP.
    • On this day 34 years ago the final episode of Dallas and came in at an astonishing #2 in the ratings after two straight seasons of weak ratings. Interesting Knots was #27 for that week as well:

    • Thank you for clearing that up. I wasn't watching GL regularly yet at that point, but seems to me I should have remembered the big wedding after Leslie's death (which I do remember) described in the profile. Is there a web archive of SOD summaries, or are referring to your own personal collection?
    • I was bummed that 2.0 ended because Mcpherson (headwriter) had really set up some interesting stories and we never got to find out where the stories would go once they resumed production on 'season 2'. I remembered the EP (Ginger Smith) and a lot of the stars gave a lot of credit to McPherson being able to come in on very short notice and come up with stories/plots (I think it was a very short turnaround time of a few weeks).  It was nice that she got to redeem herself after her year long Days stint was not well reviewed/liked.

    • It seems like a setup for failure to review a single episode of a soap, but Cleveland Amory was a foolish man.  His taste was so predictable, that one wondered why bother reviewing a medium he so clearly disliked. (found on Facebook retro TV group) Another case in point of his misogyny from his review of Dark Shadows (Can you imagine the magazine with the widest circulation in the country insulting its customer in this way today?)
