Massive icons like Aretha Franklin or Donna Summer will certainly continue to get their own threads when they pass, but I figured it might be worth having a place to honor lesser-known celebrities who have left us, especially because we can’t see status updates (which is where a lot of those announcements were made on here previously).

But the great actor Ian Holm has died at 88:

The poster said "update", so they were likely following up on their own post on this thread about Pope Francis' funeral.   That is all.

Denise Alexander died March 5th & I'm so sad.

The first soap storyline I remember was Susan Hunter Martin (Denise Alexander) & David Martin & Julie Olson & poor little baby Dickie on DAYS

I followed her to GH, Lesley.

I followed her to AW, Mary/Marisa.

I followed her back to GH

About her, Christopher Schemering said

Quote

Probably the most consistently popular romantic heroine in the history of television soaps, Denise Alexander began her career as a child acting in radio shows ... eventually racking up credits in 5,000 radio episodes. ...

In soap magazine polls she was voted Best Actress over & over.

Sad to hear that Joe Don Baker has passed away. I loved the original version of Walking Tall and I've seen it multiple times. I remember watching it for the very first time at 13-years-old at my grandparents' house and being so enraptured by the film. At least he lived a pretty good and long life and he had a very solid and memorable career, so there's that. I hope he rests in peace.

Swedish actress Meta Velander died today, 100 years old (born August 13th 1924)

Among other things in her long career (she made her first film in 1945!) she was the Swedish voice of Mrs.Potts in "Beauty and the Beast" and Madame Medusa in "The Rescuers" with smaller roles in "The Aristocats" and "The Great Mouse Detective"
