Massive icons like Aretha Franklin or Donna Summer will certainly continue to get their own threads when they pass, but I figured it might be worth having a place to honor lesser-known celebrities who have left us, especially because we can’t see status updates (which is where a lot of those announcements were made on here previously).

But the great actor Ian Holm has died at 88:

Janis Paige had an interesting short stint on Capitol which would have certainly lasted longer had the show not been cancelled. She played Sam Clegg's first wife, and Trey's mother, Laureen. Laureen had been in a mental institution for years and found her way back into the Cleggs' lives under the guise of a nanny who was hired by Kelly to look after Scotty. I assume Trey didn't recognize his own mother, I'm fuzzy on the details. I would have loved to have seen the eventual reveal with Laureen, Trey, Sam, Myrna, et al.

Naturally, it was this gig that led to her being cast as Minx as John Conboy was EP.

101 sounds like one helluva life to me, I hope she was happy and comfortable in her final years.

Dang, Bofill had been for a number of years after suffering multiple strokes yet this is so sad. Thanks to radio stations like CD 101.9 a large number of kids and youngsters became aware of her music, which is so beautiful and so was she. R.I.P.

She's also one of those R&B artists who for a while was very popular in the Philippines. When she passed yesterday a beautiful duet she had in a film was put on Twitter.
