You're absolutely right. I just checked and the HH point decreased from 1990/91 season to the 1991/2 season. The fact that no year was listed and I knew off the top of my head that a HH point in 91/92 was equal to 921,000, I thought this was for 93 and looked up the value and it matched. It's unusual that the value goes down, but I should have confirmed.

1990/91 a HH point equals 931,000

1991/92 a HH point equals 921,000

1992/1993 a HH point equals 931,000

Yup, ATWT had the #2 spot for most of 1991 until January 1992 when AMC took second. ATWT was #3 for most of 1992.

From January 1994

I find it really fascinating that B&B was hitting Top 5 for overall households as early as 1990 (and this was all pre-Sheila as that was still unfolding on Y&R). That time would have been Caroline’s death, Brooke and Eric’s wedding, and a few others that I’ve probably missed.

That’s an amazing achievement for CBS and Bill Bell.

By 1990, B&B had more affiliate clearance than it did from 1987-1989 so I would imagine the Y&R viewers carried over. Plus by 1990, Bill Bell figured out which characters were working and which weren't, ie. the Spectra gang became prominent while the Logan family was phased out.

Your welcome!  Are you sure it's not from 95 or 96? Are you referring to Marlena being possessed?

The climax of the whole storyline came during summer 1997 (Susan Banks, the secret room, etc). So one would expect DAYS ratings to have peaked during this period if they sustained everyone from Aremid, Paris, etc.

This is how close Days got to Y&R in 97. It isn't the highest HH number Days got in 97. That happened in January where Days was #2 with a 6.6 HH and YR was #1 with an 8.0

*sigh* AMC should still be on air. It certainly held its own with the others in the Top 5 (which incidentally are still on air today).

Actually on a related note, was it also the 90s where B&B well and truly snatched #2 from DAYS?

    • To clarify, we could argue about the necessity to have John Black speak while in hospital, but the body created an opportunity for people to touch him, and move around him.  Even though I never totally suspended my disbelief, I appreciated their creative choice to form a visual representation of loss.  Certainly there were other ways to tell this story, but it will stay with me because those production choices enabled these performances. However, with disdain, I note that Days has found an odd middle ground between a flashback and a montage.  I define a flashback as least a couple of rounds of dialogue, if not a whole scene.  And a montage would be a visual snippet without much dialogue.  But, these were often just a single line, or an entrance.  It felt like a bit of a tease, and made me wish that Peacock had curated a playlist of John Black's Greatest Hits, like they do for some Bravo shows or SNL characters.  OT - but they have yet to maximize that platform.
    • It's tough for me because I feel like this has always been Lulu. She used to be even worse, slut-shaming, verbally abusing other women, and always being written as being in the right. They should let Brook Lynn get dirtier, but I think the material of Lulu digging and being self-righteous, making everything worse even while not intending to do so, but also not being as in the wrong as Dante thinks she is, all makes sense for her. But I don't have as much experience with Lulu as a lot of fans as I just could never stomach her beyond the time she was a mute kid, so I don't have much right to speak.
    • Thanks @JAS0N47 for all the ratings!   All My Children hits Number 1 in the ratings for the first time in its history during the week of 8/20/73-8/20/73!
    • I think the writing is slanted against Lulu.  I don't think there is an issue with the character in general.  I just think Lulu comes doesn't get many layers or nuance in her writing.  Lulu becomes obnoxious and a bully to Brook Lynn and both characters SHOULD have flaws.
    • Totally here for Anita dumping Sharon in the past for first Dante Green, and then Vernon...

    • Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer was once again really good in today's episode.  As a Lucky/Liz fan, I didn't like their scenes either.  And they are nowhere near a proposal because they haven't been given a real story.
    • I don't think Lulu is written that badly.  Lucky they do seem to have no real interest in. I wonder if this is another story they have decided to wrap up abruptly as it makes zero sense to have what would have clearly been serious conflict between Liz and Lucky just get shrugged off by her. Maybe the intense viewer negativity toward Kristina got through to them.
