I don't know that Sammy Davis, Jr. "found a home" on soaps, but he was definitely at home on them....but then again, he was the man who could do anything. Among other things, he played Bryan Phillips' father on GH in the early 80s.

This episode of TEON has some fun scenes with Kim Hunter and Farley Granger (starting about 11:28 in). Both playing aging Hollywood stars in a very meta way.

Of course, Kim in one of the sexiest scenes ever on film.

Dana Andrews (Bright Promise) appeared in a number of classics. The best is Laura (1944) Judith Anderson was in that also.

Oscar-nominated Martha Scott (Our Town in 1940) played Terry Brock's grandmother Jennifer Talbot for several months during the Laurelton Murders storyline on GH circa 1986. When Jennifer was killed, I still remember Anna Devane being asked "Murder?" and answering, "No, she just crawled up the drainpipe and died." Made me laugh then.

And him as Shannon’s uncle Earl Mitchell on ATWT in the ‘80s (at 1:44:43):

With Eileen Fulton:

And of course the great Dame Judith Anderson (seen at 1:40 in the first clip), who later played Minx on Santa Barbara:

The original casting for the Lockridge family was perfect. Any executive with half a brain should have fought to keep them or at least bring them back later on.
