Didn't the Snyder family name on ATWT come about because Snyder was the maiden name of Doug Marland's mother?

I think so.

The original set decorator for Y&R in the 70's was Brock Broughton who went on to do the sets for Dynasty in the 80's. I think Brock Reynolds was named after him and made his debut in 1974. I wonder if Reynolds was added because of the extreme popularity of Burt Reynolds at the time.

Brad Bell = Brad Elliott

Lauralee Bell = Lauralee (Lorie) Brooks

Lee "Phillip" Bell - Phillip Chancellor

William J. Bell & William Jr. - William " Bill" Foster Sr. & Jr. (Snapper). The Bells had friends with a son nicknamed Snapper.

Was the nickname "Snapper" ever explained?

On the show in the first episode Snapper tells Stuart it was because of his disposition. He wants to become a doctor to live like the Brooks do because he see's them as wealthy.

Bell said the real life kid named Snapper was snotty and bratty.

It's funny, but it also shows bad parenting on their friends' part.

Hopefully the real Snapper turned out OK.
