Administrator Toups Posted March 31, 2020 Administrator Share Posted March 31, 2020 And with that Max Martin, my favourite non-performing writer/producer, received his 23rd #1 song as a writer, and 21st #1 song as a producer. He's now had a #1 song in the 90's, 2000's, 2010's and 2020's. Please register in order to view this content
Members kalbir
The Weeknd joins Drake and Justin Bieber in the group of Canadian artists that have had 5 or more #1s on the Billboard Hot 100. Besides these three, the Canadian artists w/ the most #1s on the Billboard Hot 100 are Bryan Adams (4), Celine Dion (4), and Nelly Furtado (3).
Members Faulkner
So funny to look back at Nelly Furtado’s big moment as a big hitmaker with Timbaland. From quirky “I’m Like a Bird” to “Promiscuous” to *crickets.* I was just listening to “Maneater,” a song I hated back in the day, and I was like this song bangs. The Weeknd has had impressive longevity. It’s been rough for black pop and R&B artists recently, and he’s bucked the trend.
Administrator Toups Posted March 31, 2020 Administrator Share Posted March 31, 2020 Those Canadian boys have been killing it the last 10 years. Sadly, there's been no big female artists since Avril Lavigne and Nelly Furtado and that was, what, 15 years ago.

Members kalbir
There was a week in 2015 where between Drake, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and their fellow Canadians Shawn Mendes and Alessia Cara, they had 7 of the Billboard Hot 100's Top 10.

Members Faulkner
Funny how many big hits KC and the Sunshine Band had. I was looking for Paul McCartney but saw he was credited with Wings. I suppose the only No. 1 hits he had as a solo artist (meaning not with Linda, Wings, or Beatles) were ironically duets (“Ebony and Ivory” and “Say Say Say”).
Members Skylover
Nice to see Britney in there. Astonishing to see someone like Rihanna so high.

Members Faulkner
Drake gunning for that seventh No. 1. Guess we’re back to another long run of dudes atop the Hot 100.
Administrator Toups Posted April 8, 2020 Administrator Share Posted April 8, 2020 Drake can get a #1 without TikTok, but "Toosie Slide" is so geared towards TikTok. Ugh. BTW, @Faulkner, do you know if there's a site that archives the total points for the Billboard Hot 100?
Members Faulkner
I’m not sure. That guy is a good resource and I’ll check to see if he has a website.
Members kalbir
I think Drake is going to be the next artist to reach 10 #1s on the Billboard Hot 100, unless Bruno Mars or Katy Perry have monster hits, or Usher has a massive comeback.
