Interesting considering how a lot of media sites have dropped comment sections due to trolls and lack of budget for competent, active moderators.

CNN hates America and they hate us, like most of the media does. They only want money. That's why I will never give them my time. I am not even watching their New Year's Eve stuff anymore, aside from one or two minutes at the countdown. That's the best I bother with.

I’ve stopped watching CNN as well. They’re an entertainment network, have been for years. My instinct has been to watch them for live coverage when something catastrophic happens (terrorist attack, mass shooting, extreme weather) or someone very famous dies, but they don’t even serve that purpose very well anymore.

The thing with these channels is they're so damn po-faced, wearing the cloak of America's conscience and telling us how brave and special they are because Trump yells about them. They don't care. They don't care about the people who work for them who are in harm's way, and they certainly don't care about the public. Jeff Zucker openly gloated about how much Trump has done for him and his network. And am I supposed to believe that smirking Mika and her windbag right wing boyfriend Joe actually have a problem with Trump beyond his dumping them and publicly humiliating them?

If these channels were open about being tabloid features, I'd at least admire their honesty. Instead they roll around in the dirt and only wash themselves off long enough to beg for validation.

You can't have it both ways.

The Miami Herald has been quietly doing some very thorough investigative and journalistic pieces with little recognition.

They are reporting news that I don't see anyone else reporting, or before anyone else does, such as the existence of mainly U.S. based mercenaries in Haiti, who were spirited away back to the U.S. before they could face charges locally.

Just thought I'd mention that.  Many smaller newspapers have been picking up the slack left behind by the major media outlets.
