Even if I were okay with the idea of Jack NOT being John's biological dad, the suggestion of who IS makes no sense.  I mean, of all the random people to pin Jack's paternity on....

It does such a disservice to the character of John Abbott.  He raised three kids on his own and only fathered two of them?

Then again, John was always attracted to the more idiosyncratic ladies (Dina, Jill, and Gloria) so maybe he was a glutton for punishment?

But at least with AW.. the sets were still vast, there was still a diverse cast of characters (they still had extras in the restaurant/party scenes), and still resembled a soap... so it was probably just as well that they ended before they got Peapacked themselves (Oakdale resembled a ghost town by the end of their run.. and Springfield looked more like a run down town instead of the lush, glamorous town pre 2008).

By the end, TGL looked like it was being filmed behind a barn by high school students with a camera they had swiped from the school's A/V department. Painful.

In a way, though, I feel even MORE sympathy for John, who raised Ashley and Jack and treated him as his own, without ever knowing the truth.

You know, I'd love for there to be a twist down the road where someone -- Jack, Ashley or Traci, but someone -- discovers a letter John had written, saying he knew he wasn't Jack and Ashley's bio dad, but kept the truth to himself, because he loved his family too much to put them through that kind of pain.  That'd make him a real hero in my eyes, and give him back some dignity after all this.

It would be really hard to cut the Ciji songs, or the first season of Cathy songs.  They were central to the plot, other characters and I don’t want them to be cut lol.

Once she started singing on Joshua’s show, some of those I would be okay with not seeing again.

Shout Factory did a good job with WKRP, but there were a couple of glaring omissions due to the fees.  Pink Floyd I’m looking at you.

BTW... Knots Landing would be much easier. It's the record companies that demand such enormous prices for licensing... these songs on Knots are not million selling hit recordings like were aired on WKRP, these are covers sung by Lisa Hartman, and as such, only the publishers of the song would have to be paid.
