The story was doomed from day one no matter who they hired. The story was horribly written. It got the 5 min buzz and then just disappeared in the wind.

It doesn't help that GLAAD keeps awarding the show for Maya's non-story.  Didn't they get another award earlier this month?  For what???

Yep. Wouldn't have mattered who played Maya. They were never truly invested in telling a transgender storyline.

How could they have cast a transgender actress in the first place when they came up with the transexual story years into Maya's run? 

 

Plus I think that transexual and transgender are two different things, but I may be wrong.

I thought he had some good songs at the beginning of his singing career and I think he is better doing country music. As for his acting....I have only seen him in soaps. My favorite role of course was Rick followed by JR. I thought he was miscast as Lucky on GH.
