To us it may seem to be a quick turnaround from the announcement but she must've been going through health issues for some time. R.I.P.

I was a kid when she was First Lady, and she just came across as a grandma that you just wanted to go over and hug. She led a long, full life. God rest her. ❤

My thoughts go to her family.

Both she and George H.W. Bush were ill around the time of Trump's inauguration.

I remember the 'jokes' floating around that they were supposedly using illness as an excuse not to attend Trump's inauguration (I wonder whether those people think about that now?)

At the time, it seemed as if G.H.W. Bush was the one in more perilous health but I do remember, at one point, both of them were hospitalized and media reported the news as if Barbara Bush's health had somehow been imperiled after worrying and care-taking for her husband but I suspect it was more complex than that.  They were likely both in fragile health from that time.

I thought she was such an inspiring woman. She exuded such class and grace. God rest her soul and may she be at peace.
