this can be said about literally everything ever. SOAP is trash tv, and the story wouldn't be any better on Y&R, B&B, or GH just going by their current content. So comments like this are just really shallow, and sort of complaining for the sake of it while nostalgia-seeped longing for days of yore, etc.

i actually don't care. I know that DAYS is trash - but so are all the other shows. I mean unless you were thinking the writers of The Wire were gonna tackle this story, or something? LOL All the shows are on this level, so your comment is superfluous at best. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah, we can tell.

No, my comment's relevant to how shitty these soaps are in 2017 vs. how good shows - DAYS included - handled social issue stories in the past. Yet for some reason my critiquing DAYS seems to get under your skin. Get over it.

you can go back to thinking you are a "cool kid" on a soap forum and wishing we was back in the days of yore soaps - in 2017.  Mess.

I'm sorry it's got you pressed that everyone is unimpressed with your favorite show but I ain't the first or the last, so you can break out your aging GIFs with someone more in your range. Find your level and stay there. Or better yet, stop breathlessly stanning for what you admit is trash. Half your posts are sweating it to cover for Ken Corday.

Haven't watched more than 20 minutes in two years, actually. Because it's not good, babe. And your post history ranting about how people dare to criticize Your Story speaks for itself.

Yeah, that's why I'm using caps lock. Bye!

    • If NBC could have for seen the ratings of Lovers & Friends (the replacement for Somerset).. they would have for sure kept Somerset on the air longer. https://jason47.com/days/ratings1976.html  (ratings for Somerset in the final year) https://jason47.com/days/ratings1977.html (ratings for Lovers & Friends short run...getting as low as a 2 rating).

    • I liked them, too, and was really disappointed it never went anywhere. The whole art theft story was ridiculous, but they had a nice chemistry. Certainly nicer than Alan with Christine. With her, he looked like the funny uncle. The worst thing they did to Bolger, IMO, was having Phillip write that DREADFUL novel and dramatizing it while he wrote it. GAG, that has to be in the running for one of their worst storylines that didn't involve wacky things like clones or time travel. Soaps rarely do school storylines, or don't do them for very long. Not the case so much in the early days of soaps, but after GH took off in the late 70s other soaps took their lead and would catapult teens/young adults into adult stories right away. That's one reason Phillip and Mindy ended up with so many ex-spouses--they started getting married really young. They shipped Dina and Cameron off really fast after high school and stuck Alan Michael in a marriage storyline with Harley. Did he EVER go to college? I don't think so. It may also partly explain why Quint and Annabelle had to go, beyond TPTB wanting to do a cast sweep. Teaching is not a profession that plays well on a soap. Quint definitely had to quit being Indiana Jones, because that wore thin really fast, but they didn't do him favors by making him a professor. If they wanted to keep him, they should have done what they did with Amanda (who was in another dead-end soap job, concert pianist)--have him work at Spaulding as one of the major stockholders.
    • Judith McConnell (Augusta) and Denise Alexander (Lesley) were great screen partners on GH.  They got into some stellar arguments in character in the medicine room.
    • He also commented that Brad knows that fans are sick of the constant fake deaths on this show: Finn, Sheila, etc and that it's hard to take this seriously if it's another fake death

    • I just don't think Brad Bell has it in him to actually kill off Liam. He should have killed off Eric when he had the chance. I know John McCook is an original cast member, but Eric is even more useless than Liam. Eric should have died and then it would be revealed that he died without a valid will, so Donna, as his wife, inherits everything, including his shares in Forrester Creations.
    • I think we all will, isn't that how soaps work? lol
    • ^^ I'll believe it when it actually happens.
