She looks FABULOUS!!!

She absolutely is. I won't be able to stay up much longer... Even if I wanted to... since my eyes are closing... But if she wins... Tag me so I can see it first thing in the morning ❤️

Would've done so without being prompted to!! Since you won't be able to hear my screams over this distance!

Aw, poor Demi.  I thought she was great in The Substance.

I've been wanting to see Anora for a while - I'm just waiting for it to come on streaming in mid March.   Sean Baker winning four Oscars in one night - is this a record?

Wasn't really a big fan of Best Costume and Best Cinematography getting "nomination shout out" from the actors presenting.  I really hope they don't continue that and decide to rotate it to two other categories.  I also didn't like the graphics of the actors' faces in the background - like when Adrien Brody won, Sebastian Stan's Trump was in the background while Adrien was giving his speech.  ANOTHER James Bond tribute?  We just had one in the last 10 years.

Kudos to Cynthia Erivo for her awesome performance.

I really love the 7pm EST start time.  Thank God, no more 8:30pm EST starts.  LOL

Thank you!

So it's safe to say, Baker's wins are way more impressive. LOL

But until now, Walt Disney was the only person to achieve more than a trifecta. Back in 1954, Disney won four competitive Oscars across four separate projects—best documentary feature (The Living Desert), best documentary short subject (The Alaskan Eskimo), best cartoon short subject (Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom), and best two-reel short subject (Bear Country).

Is Sean Baker the first Oscar winner to follow Libs of Tiktok?

Between that and some of the actors involved, I won't be watching Anora, but clearly the Academy ate it up.

And this is shameful. Olivia Hussey was in a film that introduced many to Shakespeare and was shown in schools for decades:

Another Oscars that ran way too long (nearly 4 hours!), another appalling Memoriam (this time with a spooky choir!), and then Demi Moore gets robbed at gunpoint. I don't care how much the Academy loved Anora...they're sliding into further irrelevance.

The dislike for horror along with the general Hollywood derision for Demi's past career probably hurt her. A shame. If they wanted a surprise, I wish it had been Kieran Culkin (who I like but he's been very smug this awards season) or Adrien Brody (who has already won and is just extremely difficult for me to watch) or Zoe Saldana (who was getting a career award).

I'm happy for Anora's triumphs, but I'm gutted that Demi Moore didn't win. However, adding something positive, I thought Conan O'Brien was a wonderful host, not that I ever doubted him.

They absolutely need to get rid of the cringey nominee praising from the presenters. It's always so eye-rolling and suffocating to watch. When they got to the showing clips for the lead categories, it was such a relief.

Also, and this is a pet peeve of mine, nominees shouldn't be presenters.

I think what kills me is the Academy Awards used to be about movie stars. It was a glamorous night where regular people could watch their favourite performers in competitive races. There were only a handful of stars in that audience.

Now it's a bunch of nameless actors in movies nobody has seen winning awards and going on to work in projects for one of a million streaming platforms that a continually splintered audience never sees.
