Since it wasn't done on Mother's Day.  Who are your favorite mom  in the many soap universes. Like with the dad one they can be from primetime, daytime and even foreign soaps.

As The World Turns: Lucinda Walsh, fiercely devoted to her children (although she favored Lily by a huge margin).

There are four that stick out for me.

AMC's Mona

AW's Ada

DAYS's Alice

LOVING's Kate Rescott

It says something about Loving and Nada Rowland, who plays Kate, that I'd put her up there with the big 3.

Ryan's Hope

Maeve Ryan

Jill Coleridge - really because Nancy Addison had such a wonderful connection with little Buddy and loved when we could hear him call her by name and say " Nancy:"

Gina Capwell was not the traditional soap mom, but she adored Brandon on Santa Barbara. Robin Mattson gave me a Barbara Stanwyck-Stella Dallas vibe everytime C.C. managed to take him from her.

Alexis Colby during the Al Corley years.

KL Abby just because of the way she took care of Peter Hollister's body.

Bree on Desperate Housewives, before the show became a cartoon.

Ada on Another World played by the late, great Constance Ford- mother and grandmother to all the characters on the show- a no-nonsense truth speaker who was one of a kind- skip to the 4:00 mark in this video for some great Ada clips:

Umm, you're really killing me with these AW clips today.

"Forgiving is a part of love.  Sometimes the biggest part."

Truer words were never spoken.  And Constance Ford delivered those words so beautifully, in a way only she could.   If those clips were a campaign, it would be Ada for the win.

So Another World had the two best parents in all of daytime.  No wonder it felt like daytime's heart got ripped out when it was cancelled.
