Y&R Promo - Victor's Last Stand

Victor has been destroyed to the point of no return. The writing for the character has been atrocious!

He isn't the only character but ask the actors on the show and they all think this is the best writing they've ever gotten.

Jack is another one. But I haven't like Jack that much since Terry Lester left the role.

I see so many people rave the last few months that the show is back good and I am glad for them, but I could care less to tune in. I'm just disinterested now. I truly am. I get my soapy joyless from Emmerdale and Neighbours and sometimes Eastenders and Corrie. Not the 4 remaining shows. They are just resting on their laurels until the plugs are pulled and it is all over.

I have tried to watch but find the show to be very horrible. There are new characters who aren't needed and story lines are still so badly written. The show has gone so far the deep end that it doesn't resemble the show it once was. When I see Traci, Lauren, Ashly and Jill there is glimpses of the classic Y&R I fell in love with but besides that this Y&R is totally a different soap and not Y&R.

Oh please don't get me started on how they criminally treat Jill. If it wasn't for Jill, there would be no Y&R. She and Kay built the house that is Y&R. Even I know that as someone who started watching the show as a child in the early 90s with my mom and grandma. It's just horrible how they do Jess Walton.

What I find odd about this show is that it is supposed to be centered around the YOUNG people, but instead it's not. IMO, it shouldn't be Jack v. Victor. It should be Adam or Nick v. Billy or even better Noah v. Kyle. The young characters have nothing going for them but these are supposed to be the characters that drive the show into the next generation. Not. I hate the day when Peter Bergman and Eric Braeden leave the show b/c it's gonna be a sad day over there.

I always thought they should have brought back Tricia Cast and had Jill fight with her for the Chancellor Estate. Instead Jill met a guy who was playing her and somehow she fell in love with him and vanished from the canvas. I remember watching Y&R when it first started and I surely mess that Y&R.

I think there has been way too much Jack and Victor. They need to concentrate on the other vets left on the show. Most of the young cast is related to someone on the show but they are so boring. The actors in the role aren't that great either. They should never have recast Noah but I know why they had to. The new Noah is just blah for me and I don't care for him. The actress who plays Phyiiss's daughter(her names slips my mind at the moment) is just awful in the role but of course she won those Emmys. Kevin I haven't cared for in years….he hasn't had a real storyline of his own in years. Why is he still there? Are they going to give the actor the storyline he wants to play? I doubt it. The only other character I was interested in was Jack and Diane's offspring Kyle who they continued to recast or just drop all together. The last two Kyle's were good IMO but the writers had no clue what to do with them. I also liked Lauren's and Micheal's offspring….but he was too good for the show that he went to spread his wings and is only seen on occasion. I also enjoyed that troubled friend he had that tried to end his life. He was a good actor but again he was let go.

I would've preferred for Jill and Hilary to become the new Jill/Kay. When Mishael Morgan (Hilary) came onto the show and was put against Jill, those two were HOT. I always felt that they should've put Hilary with Jack and made Jill, who fell back in love with Jack, fight over him. Hilary wanting Jack's fortune and social standing in Genoa City, and Jill hating the hot, young woman having the attraction of the man she loves. I would've been OK if it had been Colin in Jack's place too. Anything better than what both women are getting now....

I don't mind many of the younger actors on the show b/c I feel that none of them are given material (from the time I watched) to really do anything with the characters. Noah was practically scolding his parents when it should've been vice versa. Summer had moments where she'd be interesting but they'd quickly revert her back to being a moaning, whining twat. I liked all the versions of Kyle and feel this character has the most potential story-wise out of the younger cast. He should be how his daddy was in the 80s--a constant screwup and playboy to all the young women in Genoa City. Instead, they've given that to Billy, who is too damn old now to play that role. Kevin should've died with Jana or left with Chloe. Mariah should be the town vixen a la Leanna Love or Lauren Fenmore. Luca and Marissa seem like good additions but again, I am not longer watching so IDK what is going on with them now.

This show just needs a total makeover both on and offscreen.

IMO Mishael Morgan should have been cast as the new Drucilla. I think the actress has the chops to play her. Her change in appearance could easily been explained from the fall. And they could have brought back the rivalry between her and Phyliss.

Mishael is WAY too young to play Dru and that's character that just needs to remain dead. If it ain't Vicky Rowell then leave her dead. I like Hilary but putting her with Neil was stupid. That story was already told with Tyra in previous years. They should've brought Nate back to play against Devon and Hilary if that's the case. The actor that played Mason should've just been Nate from the start.

With Neil, they should've kept Leslie. She was his best pairing since Dru. She was smart, sexy, had attitude, and meshed well with the canvas. I hate how they wrote her and Tyler off the show.

With the Newman & Abbotts it SHOULD be Victoria, Nick & Adam against Keemo, Billy & Kyle with Summer & Abby stuck in the middle.

With the Chancellors it SHOULD be Jill, Nina, Neil & Tucker against Devon, Hilary, Chance & Chloe with Mackenzie, Lily, Billy & Phillip stuck in the middle.

With the Williams it SHOULD be Paul as Chief of GCPD, Dylan & Ronan as private eyes & Steve as the head of the Chronicle.

However the problem is that SO much damage has been done to ALL the characters that the show is beyond repair at this point.

Sadly, we'll never see Keemo again or most of these characters at that.

There was a period before Y&R killed off Colleen & Brad that it was still salvageable.

However the massacre of so many legacy characters coupled with years of OOC writing has made Y&R into cancellation era GL (except with better sets).

I hate what's happening to Victor :(

I've had this feeling for a while that someone at CBS and/or Sony is trying to force Eric Braeden off the show so his salary can get taken off the books in a cost-cutting move.

Eric will be 75 in April but he has said in interviews he has no retirement plans.

it's always the bridesmaid, never the bride w/ Jack, isn't it? Jack's arch nemesis finally 'faces justice' as a SL that he front-burnered finally comes to a head and he's only marginally involved (i mean... WHERE IS HE?) as SOMEHOW the story becomes about poor Phyl and HERO Billy convincing her to come forward... a damn MESS.
