Yup.

Not surprised that Empire didn't get a Drama nomination. Looks like Better Call Saul was the surprise nomination. I am surprised that Terrence Howard didn't get a nomination. I thought for sure he'd get one.

I think Viola is going to win Best Actress.

I was quite surprised Jim Parsons didn't a nom, . Modern Family gets another nom for Best Comedy? I think of many better comedies that deserved that slot over them.

I'm glad Allison Janney got another nom for Mom. I wish Mom got nominated for awards. It's a great show and not a typical Chuck Lorrie show.

Which, let's be real, we REALLY needed!

I love that AJanney gets a nom for Mom AND one for her other work. She's also nominated for Master's of Sex on SHO.

Andre B. nominated once again and I am so happy -- I just love him as Captain Ray Holt.

Niecy Nash too! So happy for her and she is beyond amazing.... sad this is Getting On's last season.

Former AMC alum Finn Wittrock has an Emmy nomination as well for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Limited Series Or A Movie. SO pleased for him and how far he's come post AMC, loved his little guest spot on Torchwood: Miracle Day, when Gwen kept saying his character was gay and he kept trying to deny it but she'd have none of that.

Yeah, he has his four wins to tie Michael J Fox, Kelsey Grammer, and Carroll O'Conner for the most wins in Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, time to move on to new blood. I still want BBT to take the big prize some point before it ends. It helped keep the traditional sitcom alive and feel it needs to be recognized for that, plus it's still quite funny.

Hope Lena Headey takes Supporting Actress. She was amazing in the season finale.

I'm still behind on this season (about half way through) but I'm happy too. He's great on the show.

You need to give that up! It not's happening. LOL tongue.png

Empire was never going to be nominated for Best Drama. They MIGHT have snagged a nom just for being the watercooler show ala Desperate a Housewives but yeah it wasn't going to win anyway.

Viola better win Best Actress. I'm going to rewatch the episode she submitted again later. The performance she gave as she tried to convince the courtroom that her client didn't deserve the death penalty gave me chills the first time I watched it. If not her then I think Robin Wright will win.

Oooooo, how can you tell which episodes they submitted? I would love to see what Taraji did for Empire.

Toups, I'm not surprised about TH not getting a nom. as much as I love him, he doesn't captiuvate me with his portrayal and line delivery like Taraji... simply put she's why a good majority of people tune in. Their chemistry is explosive but I can laugh at Terrence when he does lines or certain things ... but I think that more or less has to deal with people like Jamie Foxx making fun of his voice and now I can't unhear it when he talks.

Wow that Best Actress in a Comedy category looks tight! Stacked with more than one Emmy and critical darling in the bunch.

Last chance for Mad Men. I wonder if they'll get it just because of that, even though I feel like they went out with a whimper. Their last few seasons fell quite short IMO.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Jeffrey Tambour snagged the Emmy for Transparent. He and Judith Light are the best things about the series and when you think of the zeitgeist of the moment, I think he will be on the Emmy radar right up to the awards show.

Hopefully Viola Davis will get some love from the Emmys. I've lost track of that show (I hope they don't count the show's quality against her) but she's put in some stellar performances and she's the only reason that show is still on air. Her scenes with Cicely Tyson...just absolute perfection.

Really rooting for Jonathan Banks and Anna Chlumsky.

JB was heartbreaking on Better Call Saul; if he submitted the episode about his son's death, then he is an absolute shoo-in.

AC was hilarious when portraying Amy's meltdown; again, if that's the show she submitted, then it's hers to lose.

Fingers crossed for both of them.

Thrilled for Taraji and Niecy Nash.

I'm not surprised Terrence Howard didn't get nominated - nobody is tuning into Empire for him. Much as it might pain him to admit he isn't JR Ewing. Empire is definitely Dynasty in terms of cast impact: it's all about Cookie.
