Alabama governor removes all Confederate flags from the Capitol grounds

While I am happy that this tragedy is finally bringing attention to the worship and idolatry of the Confederacy, I hope this doesn't negate from the underlying issue of these murders. I will say thought that I hope the momentum keeps going and more Confederate memorials and flags are taken down across the South. There is no country that has flags from a failed rebellion hanging on federal buildings.

People worship the american flag. This entire country has been that way for quite some time. That's why I don't say the pledge of allegiance, for me, it's too close to worship of a graven image.

That's a great way to just cause backlash and give cover to those who want to keep the flag up.

Shouldn't take down the flag when plans are already in place to take it down and this might make that less likely?

I don't know. It's hard to say. I guess if they think it won't happen, I can understand it.

The vote was to discuss to take it down. What about they discuss it & they still keep it up. How long this discussion leads to them keeping up.
