Yes, he's definitely long overdue.

I hope it's just a scare tactic and that a kidnapping or something dark, gothic, and deliciously evil is on the horizon.

But it's 2015. The only thing dark and gothic will be Marlena accidentally locked in her blue office at the hospital. Any excuse to use that damn set.
