Some cheese is so fun that it's almost campy and hilarious for the wrong reasons (like the Brady Bunch).

Full House and probably now Fuller House was just cheesy for the sake of being cheesy (with absolutely no camp factor) , which is why I've always detested it so strongly. I always felt stupid after catching an episode.

I am late to commenting on this thread, but I did like the trailer and think that the cast still looks good. They have aged well, especially the women. I think that the women look good.  The men look decent as well. John Stamos continues to age well.

I am glad that they didn’t make DJ pregnant and widowed, like it was originally reported.  I think that would have been overkill. I wouldn’t have even given her a small baby like they did. Just let her have two or three kids that are at least school age. But I guess they wanted to mirror it as close as possible to the original.

Regarding Michelle, not being around, I don’t think they need to keep bringing that up. They shouldn’t try to pressure the Olsens or anything.  Just acknowledge Michelle from time to time and keep the door open for the Olsen twins. I remember reading an interview with Ashley where it kind of seemed like she wouldn’t completely rule out an appearance on the show. But that the timing isn’t right for her right now. Maybe later on she might make an appearance on the show if it’s successful.

The show can survive without Michelle, above all it is about family. She got a lot of attention towards the end of its run when the Olsen’s blew up, but it’s not like they are doing a Family Matters revival without Urkel, whose character ended up basically taking over that show.  They’ll be fine without Michelle.

    • The first one is Cass Winthrop dressed as Krystle Lake on Another World (not from his original creation of the character to hide from the loan shark Tony the Tuna, but at a romance convention trying to find out what had happened to Felicia who was missing). The second one is also Another World, Jake McKinnon as Doris although I don't recall what his purpose was.
    • I know there was one brief scene in the summer of 1989 where Lillian did mention Calla.. but in relation to her past relationship to Ross and it was to Roger while he was a patient at Cedars.  I think he was trying to pump her for information on Ross.. and for some reason, Calla's name came up.   I could see perhaps Beth mentioning that her mother Lillian was visiting Calla.. but not exactly giving any sort of details as to the going ons in Calla's life off screen.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.
