And you know what this says? That your'e always having to walk on eggshells around here so as not to have the wrath of the "groupthink" coming down upon you. And tha't's just not right, nor fair. Your opinion is important, and matters just as much as anyone elses, don't forget that. The people that your'e so worried about offending don't give a crap about offending you, I can tell you that much. It's just words on a page, after all... it's not the fight to end world hunger, or the struggle to cure cancer, so don't let it bring you down in any way. Anyone can tell from your postings you're a kind person. Also take note how many times these same people have told me to "have a seat" or "Shut up", meaning I may have a right to my opinion, I just don't have a right to voice it. Everything's fine as long as I stay in the closet. I'll argue a topic till the cows come home, I'm judgemental as all hell... but I almost never tell someone to have a seat, or shut up, because they have a right to voice their opinions, too. (I may have done it a couple of times) But it says a lot about them that can't extend me the same courtesy. To me, that says their arguments aren't as strong as they'd like them to be.

Cosby got another positive response at a California show with one protester out front.
I'll be honest, I don't see the point in protesting his concerts. His fans are going to go anyway and are certainly within their rights to do so. Other people may go just for the curiosity and trainwreck factor so they can say they saw him live after his career had fallen apart. After all, there's a certain bit of pop culture history being made. (My mom still tells me the story of when she went to see Ray Charles the night before he got arrested for possession in Indianapolis. Her perspective is very different from the way it was portrayed in the movie "Ray.")

I feel for anyone associated with Cosby because this topic is unavoidable for the foreseeable future. I know from personal experience how hard it is to accept that someone you love may have done the unthinkable and it can be torturous embracing the truth while feeling a sense of loyalty... to the person "you know". I'm having trouble with that, "the so-and-so I know." What does that even mean really, how does that even matter? "Well, the Hitler *I* know...", if I'm being extreme. I'd just as soon say, "It's just an awful situation all around, and I'd rather not talk about it." That said, Malcolm handled that very well.

She makes an excellent point that date rape was not defined or a "thing" in that time. Would the police have believed her story if she would have went to them? How would she describe what happened? It would help to explain why some of these women did not report the rape to police. Makes sense to me...

    • Thanks. I'm glad we have some fan memories of these years as this is such a typically snide take on the genre. It's also poorly written and reminds me a great deal of the tedious "snark" recaps that became popular in the '90s. The end in particular. The 1979/80 stuff I have seen is much more polished than a number of soaps at the time. It was very easy to watch and not too bogged down in past story.  Margo is played by Ann Williams, who was on what seemed like every soap. I think she said Margo was her favorite role.
    • And the rating 'wars' continue...hehe.
    • Well, it was fun while it lasted for Rebecca Herbst. Le sigh.
    • I am wholeheartedly enjoying this show. I just haven't been able to post as much as I used to. But yes, this episode needs to be submitted for the EMMYs and there needs to be wins. I better NOT see Y&R, DAYS, or B&B winning in categories over BTG. I feel like the only show that is giving BTG an ounce of competition this season is GH.
    • I never thought the day would come, but too much MM for me.
    • I think it may be that the character was brought in for a specific purpose and then became popular with viewers, and the show didn't know how to respond.  The choice to pivot away from Simon/India may show that you are right and they didn't care for her...although pairing them up may be another sign they didn't care for her. I don't connect well with this period but it does make me happy seeing some of these characters before the great purge and some of the surprises - I'd forgotten the wonderful Maureen O'Sullivan popped up to be bumped off. So typical of soaps by this point, but it doesn't grate as much as later on when Y&R would bring on any random cast member from Small Wonder. I'm also amazed at this time at just how much money the show must have had. The costumes for the Founder's celebration in summer 1984, or whatever it was, looked gorgeous.
    • Which officially started to feel that way today with them hearing each other out as they confronted each other at the same time.    Same. He was even catching himself when he was about to go overboard or do those tics that people don't seem to like. He failed a bit at the end, but he carried. It makes me think about a month back when it was discussed that the actor was better in other things he's been in. And I questioned then if that meant that he was playing Martin more intentionally. I questioned that briefly again today because he was giving.
    • I really like the actress who plays Margo. Don't know  her name. I'm so hesitant to google anyone because I don't want to know the length they were on the show. I've watched two episodes and I have to say that the show does not feel as dated as other shows. I tried to watch Ryan's Hope a few weeks back and some of the acting was a bit rough. EON is a lot more natural which amuses me considering it's a mystery/thriller show.
    • She’s INCREDIBLE. I’m so glad you enjoyed this my friend.
