Good for the NYPD, turning their backs on Di Blazio. Maybe he should release his security detail he neither trusts not respects so their time can be better utilized elsewhere.

I'm looking forward to seeing the President's statement on this, considering the Instagram stuff that came to light last night.

So because de Blasio acknowledged that police brutality and racial profiling culture exists within the NYPD they should turn their backs on him? That lunatic would have killed those officers no matter what stance de Blasio took on the matter. The NYPD should take an internal look at the way they handle minorities and stop fostering an aggressive, racist culture.

Neither officer was white. One officer was Latino. The other was Asian. This assassination doesn't help African Americans in recruiting Latinos and Asians to their cause against white officers.

Chile..... what? It's funny how when ONE black person does something all blacks are held responsible. He was a mentally ill person who wanted to go out in a "blaze of glory". He used Michael Brown and Eric Garner's name to justify it but I doubt it was truly about "revenge".

It's just as funny as when ONE police officer, or a small percentage, is a bad apple all police officers are held responsible.

Dinkins worse than Giuliani the racist? laugh.png

In terms of crime and economy, Giuliani is much better. You can google the statistics. Crime rates dramatically dropped and the economy improved under Giuliani. He stopped the exodus to the suburbs. People actually started moving from the suburbs into the city. Also, on social issues, such as abortion and gays, Giuliani was liberal.

NYC is falling apart under De Blasio.

Uh.... it's not that simple. The reason profiling occurs is because 7 percent of the population commits 42 percent of the armed robberies and 50 percent of the murders in the country. And this is NOT black women we're talking about. If that figure would drop, the profiling would disappear, simple as that. The police in NY also need to REALLY slow their roll in a massive way, because they are killing people that are doing petty crap. They need to learn to pick their battles and respond with appropriate force for the situation.

Can I see some receipts for those stats you posted? The reason profiling occurs is because blacks have been seen as animals, criminals, and beasts since they were brought to this country in chains.

If he just wanted to shoot anybody, then why didn't he shoot random people in Baltimore, after his gf? He traveled to NYC and sought out NYC police officers. That clearly shows motive.

LOL

http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/hus11.pdf

and this article from the Washington Post is meant to show the actual percentage is LOWER than the PERCEIVED percentage... but the stats I quoted are the actual percentages from this article:

Wouldn't people have to compare Guiliani's first year as mayor, not his entire tenure?

The economy improved nationwide at the time Guiliani was mayor. Those days are gone and likely never coming back.

Nothing new there. Jerad and Amanda Miller sought out cops. Eric Frein sought out cops. Oh wait, they're white so only they are held responsible for their behavior. Goodness knows we certainly don't bother to hold the Cliven Bindy's and Wayne LaPierre's responsible for their anti-cop rhetoric. Even though extreme right wingers like Sharron Angle routinely fantasize about killing cops and soldiers as part of their so-called second amendment remedies. When people talk about buying weapons to defend themselves from government tyranny, they are talking about killing cops, federal agents and soldiers. Yet nobody blinks an eye. Black guy goes on a shooting spree and does exactly what insurrectionists have talked about doing for years and suddenly it's the fault of peaceful protestors who are calling for an end to police brutality.

Also, if this was just about killing cops, then there was no reason to shoot his girlfriend.

It's just as funny as when ONE police officer, or a small percentage, is a bad apple all police officers are held responsible.

Are you kidding? Not even the bad cops are held responsible. We watched a cop kill Eric Garner with an illegal chokehold and he was given a pass. If all police officers are held responsible it's because good cops don't call out bad ones.

Don't kid yourself, they aren't buying guns and ammo to protect from government tyranny, they buy them to protect themselves from possible looters and rioters. They just "say" the government thing so people won't call them racist.

Bullshit. Since when are gun humpers AFRAID of being called racist?

They say they are buying guns to protect themselves from the government because they are. These are people who fantasize about what they will do when the government comes for their guns and that means killing cops and soldiers. The loons at the Bundy ranch weren't pointing guns at "looters" they were pointing guns at Federal agents. The Millers didn't kill looters, they killed cops.

That's a TINY percentage. What I said is correct, I live among these people, you don't. I know what I'm talkin about.

Garner died of a heart attack on the way to the hospital, not from the chokehold itself.
