Moments you wish social media had been around for?

I think Dynasty might have been akin to Game of Thrones as far as social network reaction.

I am over here cracking up at the thoughts of what memes and tweets we would have gotten after the Moldavian Massacre episode aired.

lovely, that's so funny, I was thinking more message boards, but my first thought was the first two seasons of The Real World. I also thought, "NOT 9/11." I think we'd be an even more emotionally wrecked nation and it would have brought out the worst in a lot of people.

I'm from the D.C. area and I have family who worked under Marion Barry, so yeah, we would've eaten that up. I saw him at a wedding once and he was sweating like the proverbial you know what in where.

Social media would've destroyed Michael Jackson during those trials, Hugh Grant would've been doomed, and dear Lord, the Jeffrey Dahmer memes... In the eighties, "humor" wasn't all ironic and cruel yet, so I think the Challenger disaster would've been spared for the most part.

God, imagine what Rock Hudson and Ryan White and Liberace would have suffered...

I think 9/11 incident on social media would have offered up more insight and conversation as to why it happened.

I think Janet Jackson's Super Bowl incident wouldn't have been as bad with social media. Yes it would have been clowned on Twitter and all sorts of pics but we would have also gotten insightful blog posts on why Janet was dragged so hard for her nip slip. Mainly misogyny in this country when it comes to sex.

The internet would have crashed the day Michael Jackson's Bad album cover was unveiled. For obvious reasons.

Instagram and Grindr during the disco era would have been a fabulous hot mess!

This is from watching The Sixties on CNN, if social media was around during The Kennedy years how different the reporting would have been. The nukes were in the ocean and how close we came not being here, they would only care about Jack, Bobby and Marilyn.

Since a lot of the higher profile ones have been mentioned, here are some more low profile ones:

Michael Landon leaving his second wife for his third wife (after leaving his first wife for his second wife). Charles Ingalls, a cheater? Say it ain't so!

Soleil Moon Frye (Punky Brewster) getting a breast reduction at 15. Although given the fact that she was underage, and the crap she went through with that (getting called "Punky Boobster" by her classmates), I feel a little uncomfortable suggesting it.

Roseanne singing (?) the National Anthem

Marcia getting hit in the face with a football! ("oh, my nose!")

Wow, you took it back with Soleil and her reduction!

I'm sure there would have been a lot of #teamLoni #teamBurt stuff and a bunch of Zsa Zsa memes after she slapped the cop.

The more I think about it, I wonder if life would even be the same. Would people be screwing up on the balcony or would Liza and Halston be doing lines if they knew somebody probably had an iPhone pointed in their direction? You'd probably have to check your phone before you entered Plato's Retreat.

The GIF's created of Marcia and the football would've been a fun treat, passed around throughout the internet.
