Members DRW50
Good interview. I had no idea she was so involved with ATWT in the early 90s. I don't think she would have been right as Margo, but I wish they'd found another role for her. I think Vee may have mentioned that she was asked to return to OLTL in 1997, but I'd forgotten. I'm glad we finally got an answer about her 1979 EON exit. The Rauch stories were cool too. And she was asked to do a reality show last month...that's crazy. Members Melroser
This was a great interview. As much as I loved watching her on AW, I admit that she had been given a really crappy character. I wish they had played up more of a rivalry between her and Anna Stuart on the show instead of making Brittany such an abused victim. I loved that she said Linda Dano gave her the number to her own shrink and how Linda would do anything for anybody... haha
Members teplin
Fascinating conversation. Sharon sounds exactly the same. Loved hearing her perspective on Lee Sheldon and the Edge finale. Anyone know anything about the Countess, the OLTL role Sharon declined in favor of playing Brittany on AW? And I'd never heard the story about Paul Rauch locking himself in the bathroom and refusing to leave after P&G fired him from one of their soaps -- anyone know what that was? Members DRW50
I'd never heard it either. She must have meant AW, as that was the only P&G soap he did before OLTL. Marianne Tatum played the OLTL role she turned down. Apparently they cut the role significantly because they didn't like her work.
Members TimWil
DRW50, funny you mentioned Marianne Tatum, I see her often on TV and movie sets doing extra work. She was on Broadway in Barnum and then went out to Texas to care for her elderly parents. She also has a child with special needs, I think. She's a lovely lady. I'm looking forward to listening to the Sharon Gabet interview. I subscribed to Brandon's Buzz on iTunes. He's got a lot of great sounding interviews in his archive. Members Matt
Actually, no. Paul Rauch was also the EP of 'Lovers and Friends' before both he and Harding Lemay were removed from it & the show was retooled/relaunched as 'For Richer, For Poorer.' Also, wasn't Paul Rauch the original EP of 'Texas'?
