As to Anika, she f*cked over Elle for such a pathetic reason. The woman was no threat to her and did nothing to her. She was just trying to undermine Cookie in a way that didn't even matter. I think the show went there to show that Anika has claws and that's fine. I think something like this needed to happen, but any time a show has a character do something like this (Jax Teller), I immediately hate the character who did it. I don't even have any family members that have dealt with this type of addiction, but it just strikes me as such an evil thing to do to someone.

That's how I am. What Anika did to Elle crossed a line for me because she punished one of the few people on this show who really is innocent in all this mess.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh ok ok ok. Thanks for clarifying that for me. I was trying to grade papers while watching that episode, so I either didn't catch a lot of stuff or drew conclusions from the pieces I paid 100% attention to.

There's only four episodes left and the ratings are still climbing. Wouldn't it be amazing if they could keep rising through the whole season? I don't believe that's really possible - at some point the audience has to max out - but it would be cool to see.

I see the show hitting a 6.0 or near it by the season finale. The season premiere's numbers will be huge as I am sure tons of people who didn't watch this season will catch up via streaming and DVR and see what the fuss is about. I'm predicting a 7.0 in the fall. From there who knows. It won't gain forever.

I think it's possible that the show will come back to even higher ratings next year though. The Netflix has made that happen for shows like SOA, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. Of course, those are all cable shows, but I'm hopeful.

In total viewers, Empire has gone up every single week six total since its premiere. Among adults 18-49, the series has risen five out of six weeks. I asked one broadcast analyst for a historic comparison point to help put the latest gain into some kind of perspective compared to other dramas that have risen in the ratings over the years. The rep replied: Dont have any new historical references for its post-premiere growth. It has literally exceeded all Nielsen total viewer records to date.
