The ending WAS amazing. So many good moments last night. I loved how she realized she was wrong, made that call and them bam the hit happens. Sooo good. I also like how each episode usually ends with Cookie and Lucious. I don't see "friendship chemistry" at all but [!@#$%^&*] me now eyes. Every. Time.

I guess there was some genuine concern with Andre, it's just so hard to grasp whether he gives a damn because he always acts so cold and looks so nastily at his brothers. I'm sure he doesn't really WANT Jamal shot or hurt but I felt like he was acting all surprised and concerned when Hakeem called him. I guess the actor's doing a good job when I'm not sure whether he's sincere or just a cold SOB wanting to take down his family and run the company.

Oh, that's definitely true. It's REALLY hard to read Andre and figure out what he's all about. Maybe that's the point (unless this is accidental ). But one thing's for sure: He wants that top spot!

Something which is interesting is that they didn't show much in the flashbacks to expound upon Cookie and Andre's relationship yet the child who was in the backseat of the car was Andre. He would have suffered a severe loss when his mother went to prison. The look on his face when he went to visit his mother at her apartment and they hugged was bone-chilling.

Lee Daniels is not the showrunner. That's Ilene Chaiken. So he's not responsible for Jamal. Surprisingly enough, people started complaining for Jamal as soon as Daniels wasn't writing an episode. Hmmmm.

And I don't understand AT ALL what's random about Jamal punching Hakeem. So we're gonna judge him for getting upset because he JUSTLY thought, he was SET UP, to think that Hakeem had sent his shady friends to terrorize him? He ought to have beaten his ass to a pulp! But, yeah, Lucious shoots his friend in the eye but Jamal is just way too much punching Hakeem on the stomach! Girl, BYE!

Cookie set up a hit on a man who did nothing to her in the same episode! laugh.png

I'm new to the board but I've lurked for sometime. I've been looking for a place to converse about the show. It seems that the show is doing so well which pleases. Even Michelle Obama is a fan. http://michronicleon...michelle-obama/

Welcome to the board!

Watched last nights episode... WOW!

The lesson for the day is to verify before taking action.

Another layer was added to Anika tonight with meeting her parents. Even in that brief scene between her and her mother developed Anika while I think Cookie and her sister Tasha had a good rapport as well tonight.

Can't wait for Courtney Love to step up to Cookie!

Lastly, I can't believe Andre and his wife set it up to have Hakeem's friends rob Jamal. Even his wife had hesitation for a second about Jamal being hurt, which added an extra layer to her character.

Sometimes little scenes and actions such as those can develop a character beyond a character trope.

Can't wait for next week.

That's very true. It was very nice to see those sides to Anika and Cookie being explored. As long as they keep doing that kind of work, the show will remain grounded.

Thank you.

THIS.

I want Hakeem to get a dose of reality. And soon. I love Jamal punching him because Hakeem deserved it and because Jamal believes what Andre set him up to believe.

And brothers fight. Why is everyone acting all "poor Hakeem"?

Hakeem might be a young fool but he didn't deserve to be punched by Jamal because he didn't do what he was accused of.
