Just recently in the AW Topic we were discussing some of the very popular stuff in the 80s & the fact that the ratings just sat there, flat, dead in the water, no bumps or anything. Discussion of times like that when ratings did not seem to reflect either quality or popularity. Quizzical.

I assume you mean 1984?  These two weeks are from two different books, so they wouldn't normally be on the same chart that I post, but I'll do it this time.

As a reminder, the weekly charts will be coming over the course of the next few months, so (to everyone) please try to limit ratings questions to non-soaps, mainly if you have questions about other daytime shows or Saturday morning shows from 1980-1987.

The ratings for GL are the first few weeks when Beverlee McKinsey joined the show as Alexandra Spaulding.

I believe in 1985 that CBS swept the Emmys. Y&R Best Show, GL Zimmer Best Actress, GL Larry Gates Best Support, Y&R Beth Maitland Best Support, ATWT Brian Bloom Young Male, Y&R Tracey E. Bregman Ingenue & GL Directing. That's 7. 

ABC only won 2 for AMC Darnell Williams Lead Actor & Best Writing.

I don't know The Biskitts, but they lost the time slot to the two more long-running cartoons, Scooby Doo and Flintstones.

The Biskitts was CBS's attempt at a Smurfs clone involving puppies/dogs. It was removed in January, and I'd say losing to 2 shows composed of reruns didn't help its cause.
