She was held captive for nearly two years and was tormented by being separated from her family. She could use someone neutral to talk to and it would help give us some insight into her POV beyond the desperation they are writing for her in this triangle. They can easily write her as leaving to go find herself and get her act together. She comes back next year, presumably more mature, responsible and together.
