Prospect Park in a Labor Dispute Over All My Children?

I posted this in the AMC thread, but first of all I think this involves both soaps and not just AMC. It's similar to how some news articles will talk about AMC's return and then throw in one sentence saying "Oh yeah One Love To Keep is back too..." As for this labor dispute, I think it's possible this is true. Vincent Irizarry said they filmed 47 episodes in a time period they were supposed to film 70 episodes. If that's true, then they HAVE invalidated their agreement because they would've spent almost double to product half the episodes in the time period they promised. Just like all of their other blunders, the problem isn't what they do, but how they do it. Everything they do makes them look stupid and makes these shows look like a failure. There was nothing but positive press and it's like they're BEGGING us to stop watching by making everybody think this could fold anyday. They need to live by "fake it until you make it." We understand it's a start up, but you still need to roll out your plans better. They've ruined a deal with FX Canada which was more money in their pocket, they're fighting with ABC and now they have a labor dispute. It's just draining keeping up with these soaps.

The people who think this is going to "fold any day" have been dreary little rainclouds from the beginning and regardless whether these shows fold this year or ten years from now they will see it as confirmation of their viewpoint. Every hitch, hiccup and rumor has them rubbing their hands together, salivating at the thought that they will get to say "I told you so."

ETA: Yikes Rhino, you know the planet is off its axis when we practically type the same thing. LOL!

I've often felt ABC has interns posting that ridiculous crap on FB and other boards not being able to find the 'hula' network and 'I can't afford a computer or internet so I can't watch despite the fact I found my way to THIS part of the internet to type this drivel.'

It's not that deep. Some people really are that stupid. Not just soap fans. Look at any TV show's FB page and you see a bunch of people with poor critical thinking skills. I consider The Good Wife to be one of the smarter shows on TV but the idiocy on their FB page would make a killer out of Gandhi.

Just to be clear, I don't think they're going to fold, nor have I stopped watching, but I can see how others would. I know when I find out a show I like has been canceled that I won't rush to watch it. In fact, with these shows I've been waiting to the weekend to watch now that there's only two episodes. I don't think it's unreasonable for casual fans to worry when all they see are negative headlines I could definitely see them thinking it might not last long and deciding to let the episodes build before they wanted them. I actually waited over a year to watch the final week of As the World Turns.

Personally I think this was leaked to the Wrap & they ran with it. I feel what actually is going on with is the union is inquiring and PP gave them the books. So both sides are being co-operative. I think the article is making this bigger deal than it truly is.

It is a big deal since PP stopped production over it.
