Members quartermainefan
How sad. Edith was an iconic role and she was so perfect in it. Easily one of the most important women in TV history.
Members reallyhateskateonlost
She was wonderful as Edith Bunker. Gave us many laughs. Such a great talent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rBl6dCDGk0Q

Members VirginiaHamilton
Thank you, Ms. Stapleton, for spending your star power on helping the fight for women's rights. In addition to being an iconic TV and Broadway actress, you were truly a class act. Rest in peace.
Members DRW50
I remember reading about a church group putting out pamphlets praising Edith for her faith. Considering what All in the Family stood for, that tells you how Stapleton managed to help the show reach across divides. I was never a huge AITF fan but I enjoyed her on Scarecrow and Mrs. King. And she was the perfect partner for Carroll O'Connor.
