Tomorrow closes out the third week of the show and I have to say... so far, I really do enjoy this show! I'm not even bothered by Pete and Celia or the guitar riff and have started finding it hilarious because of you guys' reactions to it! laugh.png

The Sex Trafficking story is so chilling to me. Listening to the Dumpster Ho describe the situation really made me uneasy. Not uneasy in that I found it difficult to watch or listen to but uneasy in knowing this is going on right now and we don't even know it. So many people go missing and we don't even know it. It just creeps me out to know that people are snatched right off the street in plain sight and no one even notices. People are living next to houses that appear normal and don't even notice. As I said, listening to her describe how the house had the windows blacked out and how they're shuttled around in a windowless van.... ugh! It just resonates with me for some reason. Maybe I was a dumpster ho in a past life? Who knows?

Anyway, moving on to something lighter... I laughed at AJ flinching away as JR touched him. The first place I went to was "I wouldn't wanna be touched by those crusty fingers, either!" laugh.png

The Cassandra storyline has parallels to the current news of today, I agree. As a rape/assault victim, I had to turn away from the last scenes of today's show. I can only watch so much of it. Angie talking to the girl in the hospital is exactly on point. Angie is a Dr. and the girl is a patient and great bedside manner that Angie has. I never felt comfortable talking to any male with my case so victims will prefer a woman-to-woman communications scenario. and Jesse listening to any information/lead to help solve the case with Angie's influence as a Dr. talking to a patient was great too. But as I say, as a victim of assault, the show is accurate and on point.

Some good scenes today, but I think something was missing from today's episode. I can't put my finger on it, but there was something missing. I'm wondering if it's due to the script writer? Imho, the best script writer thus far seems to be N Gail Lawrence, with Susan Johnson/Rebecca Taylor doing alright, and Chip Hayes doing the worst.

That said, I liked the continuing developments to the Cassandra storyline. Props for Cass spitting out the pill, but who was that scary tightie whitie dude?!?! He looked scary, will he be the one that has to be impressed.. or will a certain returning favorite be the one to impress?

I liked Angie with Amy, glad that they picked someone that has some good acting chops, even for a small part such as this. Makes me wonder what the casting people were thinking with the casting for Hunter and the blonde bi girl?

Zach is a sexist pig, just curious when he will be taken down a peg or three? I hope Lea wipes that smug look off his face. I guess the sexist behaviors of Pine Valley live on.. even with Ryan and Tad not on the screen... pity.

I don't like AJ, and wish he would take a day off.

Loved today. I do feel JR will prove himself to AJ in time. Yeah Lea was using Bo's office lol. Opal I think wants Celia out of the way. Dont know why. Angie & Jesse great today.

Hopefully Brooke is given story soon.

How sad is it that Zach showed Leah more decency and respect when he thought she was a stripper than when he knew she was a cop?

I wish somebody would take a day off too, just not AJ. whistling.jpg

That Cass story is freaking me out. Especially w/ what recently happened and holy sh!t she's going to be in a porno now?

AJ wub.png I think JR is lying to everyone. He's too [!@#$%^&*] calm for someone that knows he shot his ex.wife and ruined lives.

Celia, if the b!tch farts she might consider it rebellious. Opal needs to

shut.

the.

[!@#$%^&*].

up.

Petey will be called Petey until that chick stops acting like he's a 12 yr. old w/ his first hickey.

When Opal saw that scratch I was hoping Colby would pop out and tell Opal they have role playing sex on his mama's bed.

Zach is an !@#$%^&*]. But I'm loving him as an !@#$%^&*]. And this cop isn't believable, and I don't mean Jesse. He was right about her ass, for some reason I can't forget it and I'd rather watch NuJR's ass to compare his to JY's JR.

AMC is always what it needs to be for me - a fresh, brighter, somewhat more traditional show (even with the Cassandra storyline) after the darker, edgier material and labyrinthine umbrella plot on OLTL, as well as the deranged camp of GH. Some people can call it too simple or too slow, but I think it's all just a great palate cleanser for me with classic storytelling that's been refitted with more modern pacing, topics and interplay, particularly with the kids (A.J. and Miranda especially) - but it still has that Agnes Nixon gothic romance. I really enjoy the show for what it is. I think it's so important for these shows to have their own identities.

I love Opal swanning all over town. She'd never have gotten this kind of time on this kind of basis on the ABC show. Brooke as well. (I still need a lot more of Brooke and Adam, though.) And I think Pete and Celia are that much more improved with Opal and Brooke as foils. RW is wonderful with JL, and the Brooke/work connection is solid.

Hahahaha! "You are now dealing with SEXTRAFFICKING!" Oh, Darnell. I love him but oh.

Brooke shouldn't be a 'foil' to some teen romance. Brooke would've been at the hospital checking on Adam JR for Adam. She should be shown running CE or planning her wedding.

This show really needs some rotation and balance. I don't need to see AJ/Miranda (cute as they are) have the same 'Waaah my Mom's a lesbian/Waah my Dad's in a coma' convo EVERY single episode.

And they should've been worked into getting major airtime. This is like new Dallas. The kids were there before (except contrived Elena) but they were background so essentially the older versions are 'newbies' and 'newbies' should never be front burner off the bat.

There's 24 mins tops to these new shows. They're only on 4 days a week so that balance should be adjusted to that. Let's have newbie/teen free eps every couple of days. Sex traffic free eps too. It's great they're bringing Billy and Dimitri back but all I can think of if there's no time now to give Brooke, Opal and others proper airtime and story because it seems there's a dictate they must show the teens and the sex traffic every day what's it going to like then?

I love Jessie/Angie. DM one of my all time faves. But this story doesn't need to be every episode. No story does. Starting to head into ABC territory with some getting all the airtime and others short shrift.

And I started watching soaps at 4 yrs old and it wasn't because my Mom was watching. And it sure wasn't to see my own age or the teens. I liked the 'older' actors. Their stories interested me. Doug and Julie DOOL were my first couple. So not getting why everyone who runs a soap have the mindset must shove newbie young ones down viewers throat to attract new younger audience. I don't know anyone that started because they liked 'teen' stories.

I agree with some hogging the airtime while some stay in the backburner, per se. I do think that with incorporating Colby and Dimitri and Susan Lucci working things out this month, we will start to see rotating characters with alternate days in their storylines. I am sure those kinks can be worked out with the writing and development of other characters that are missing in action.

Let's hope that PP and Ginger Smith don't take the show in the direction of ABC did the last few years of the ABC run. Only time will tell.

Well, I think AMC may be more the exception to the rule because at its best they had compelling teens/young adult stories. Erica/Tara and the Brents, Liza/Tad/Jesse/Jenny/Greg and Angie, Julie/Noah/Hayley/Mateo, Greenlee/Leo/Bianca and so on. Hell I think one of the main downfalls of the last few years was that there were no more compelling teen/young adult stories.

Right now I think the show is having to balance a few different things. They are having to work around different schedules and they seem to still be casting. The teen storylines and the sex trafficking storyline are the one with the main characters in place. I also think that they are trying to get certain characters into place for the real storylines. I think with Brooke they have her set up at Chandler. Now for her storyline to move forward they need the other Chandlers back in the fold. JR needs to get out of the hospital along with Dixie and Colby coming back. Pete and Celia need to be at a certain stage for whatever is going to happen with this guardian/Evelyn situation. AJ/Miranda are being set up for whatever drama is about to come into their lives from their parents and schoolmates.

I am enjoying Zach right now. He is going back to who his character was when he first came on the show. I liked that character more than the AMC version of Sonny Corinthos he seemed to have become in later years. I remember TK described Zach when he first came on the show as sort of like Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. He is a little more crude but considering the new format it still fits the character.

I started watching AMC in 1994 and I fell in love with the show because of the 20-something stories. What hooked me was Julia and Noah, then Hayley and Mateo falling in love. I watched Bobby, Anita, Kelsey and Kevin, but the pull for me were the twenty-somethings. And I sort of miss that right now. We have the teens (AJ/Miranda) and we have the adults (Brooke, Dixie, Adam, et. al), but what's missing for me is that middle. Pete and Celia really don't interest me at all. It seems like they're going in circles for now, but I am assuming things will pick up soon.

The sex-trafficking storyline is difficult for me to watch, but I do find it compelling in a way. I hope Cassandra gets found soon, but I have this feeling things are going to get worse before they get better.
