Members Ann_SS
Poor grotesque Andy, so in love with Abby. I like that Death is Abraham and the tie into Katrina. However, I hate Icabod's great love with her. Abby and Ichabod are so adorable together. I really like the Captain and Jenny joining the team. The diversity on this show blows away anything I have ever seen on a broadcast drama. Another thing, how can Katrina be a witch and Quaker and lady in society? That made no sense to me. This feels like the writers are trying give Katrina more to do instead of minimizing her as she deserves. Members dragonflies
The Quaker stuff is probably a cover
Members Ann_SS
I have come to accept that we are suppose to buy Ichabod and Katrina as true love so he and Abby are never going to happen.
Members EricMontreal22
They'll probably play out that triangle in Season 2
Members Ann_SS
What triangle? There is no romance between Abby and Ichabod and it is unlikely to happen.
Members EricMontreal22
I dunno, I suspect come season 2 (OK, maybe three...) there will be. Yeah they know that the show works best without it, but they will be unable to resist going there. Mark my words.
Members Ann_SS
We'll see, but an interracial romance by two lead characters is a rare thing on tv outside of Scandal which has an African American woman producer. Based on the interviews with the producers of SH, they have no intention of going there with Abby and Ichabod. And after the Person of Interest Carter/Reese debacle, I am taking the SH producers at their word until I see something otherwise on the screen.
Members DRW50
Ichabod seems like a real bore to me. I'm a little annoyed when I see the press give him all the credit for the show's success. From what I've seen it's Abbie and her sister who are adding something new to TV. I hope that they won't be dumped for Katrina.
Members EricMontreal22
I dunno, I think they're just keeping it as their ace in the hole when they run out of things or ratings slide. Yes, I sound cynical, and the producers so far seem smart about this--but I stand by that. I mean even X-Files succumbed.
Members Ann_SS
Well, Abby is the co-lead for now. From the producers' and actress' (who played Katrina) comments, we are in store for more Katrina as Ichabod's soul mate/true love. We'll see how it plays out next season 2. With the show's popularity, I expect FOX to push the show in the direction that it wants. The sister is recurring so she will be on and off. I like her hitting on the captain though. She is clearly interested in him although he seems mostly irritated by her.
Members marceline
Personally, I don't want a romance. I like them most as partners and family. So many shows get ruined by shipping, I pray this won't be one.
Members ajsp35801
Jennie Mills is a great character. She is clearly interested in the straight laced captain...could make for a great dynamic.
Members EricMontreal22
Oh please make it clear -- nor do I. I just don't have enough faith to think they aren't holding on to that card to play later.
Members Wales2004
I don't watch Bones so I don't know the impact pairing and now marrying the two leads has on that show. Abby and Ichabod are great together but taking it in a romantic direction would alter that dynamic and not necessarily in a good way.....it depends on the writing. I think their mission would make romance too much of a distraction. If relationships were the focal point of the show then it would be inevitable. Parenthood has an interracial marriage with children between characters played by Dax Shepherd and Joy Bryant. It's on opposite Scandal.
Members marceline
Shipping has killed a lot of shows besides Bones. House, LOST (the Skate/Jate/Jacket/Suliet wars made it impossible to discuss the show anywhere) all of Shonda Rimes shows though to be fair all she cares about is shipping, even CSI. I hope that Orci/Kurtzman manage to avoid the traps of shipping because if Ichabod/Abbie get together the shippers will never let anything else happen on that show and it will be dead in the water. I'm already seeing that with Scandal, although that show has a LOT more problems than just shipping.
