Y&R: April 2013 Discussion Thread

RW's body is lovely. I didn't mind Tyler and Quinn. Thank goodness I got to see him with another woman besides Lily. The chick with Noah was meh in the face but I laughed at her kicking him to the curb after learning he lives with his parents. I'm glad he gets his own place soon with Tyler. I wonder will Mason end up living with them.

Chelsea as a fourth in a Cane/Lily/Tyler story? No way -- not as far as I'm concerned.

Chelsea's become one of the most annoying, grating characters on Y&R. She causes her own problems and is nothing but a huge con, yet she barks and snaps at everyone else. I've really grown to hate her.

Yeah never could stand Chelsea and her friend Chloe is even worse.

I received a temporary banned for saying that Davetta was the better Lily, which she was, and defending Victoria Rowell shortly after she came out speaking out as to why she left Y&R and miraculously, my account was forbidden to post on the site b/c of something dealing with my email (they claimed)--the same email I had been using on that site the entire 3+ years I posted there. I messaged Dan and he never messaged back, so after talking another mod down, they finally reestablished my account. However, I was over SOC at that point and decided to come back here to SON and haven't looked back. There are some really good posters over there that I like and wish posted here. The Y&R/GH/B&B/OLTL posters were some of the rudest people. The GL/ATWT posters were the most pleasant.

I stop going over there for awhile too. But When I see threads getting on Devon, Neil, or Sharon. & I don't like Sharon but they made me speck up for her over there, that's when I post

over there. Now I'm taking up for Tyler.

Yeah I really dont have an issue with the owner of SOC's policy of not bashing the actors as they want future interviews, scoops and often actors post on there. As was already pointed out some fans can distinguish between actor and the role they play. That being said, the Mods are def biased as they enagge in debates with other posters and put there own spins on spoilers which they shouldnt do if they also have the ability to ban posters.

Except the actor bashing policy only holds for certain actors, most actors stay away from the message boards, and you can't even talk about the acting of certain actors or they ban you. Acting should be up for critique. Sony boards were the same way. You couldn't even say certain actors couldn't act or they'd ban you. I've seen examples of actor bashing being allowed for certain actors that came off as racist to me. But then after the actors were gone from the soaps and booking other roles the ass kissing started coming from the mods.

I agree and I siad they are biased. One time there was a thread left open for 2 days as posters bashed an actor for his/her emmy nom before finally some emailed Dan Kroll and he ended it.

Not in my mind but you'd be surprised at the craziness I've seen posted other places. But those are the types of fangurls Y&R attracted over the years.

Unfortunately! I mean, since when is a steamy love affair controversial? Just shocking.

I see tons of comments about how great Michael is and how Lauren is queen of the skanks, and how repulsive they think Carmine is and it all makes me laugh because I believe most of these people only started watching in the past few years.

Which really says it all, doesn't it? In the end, affairs such as this one are the bread and butter of soaps. I cannot deal with the whole "unbreakable couple" mentality.

I can't fathom how someone does not like this story. I guess it makes since the newer viewers are the ones hating though. The Lauren/Carmine affair is probably my favorite Y&R story in a good four years.

I do wish the writing would bring out more flaws for Michael though. Maybe I'm biased but I just don't see Michael painted in any different light than the one being wronged.

I know a good chunk of the people who hate this story don't know about Michael's past.

I have to laugh at all the ones saying BH's Kyle was a clean cut business man. Since when? And did they miss his final epis where he was sloppy looking and dark orange?

Sad. How many times has it been mentioned onscreen? I missed only a few episodes and the only time I remember his past being referenced was when he feared Fen would go down the same path he did, which was vague, and Fen's bringing up what he did to Christine.

I do wish Fen was still a factor in their story though.

The Katherine brain tumor story isn't working for me. Its completely boring. I think Jeanne has done some good work however. And I loved those scenes between Nikki and Jill, those two are golden and it was all too brief.
