March 25, 201313 yr Member I cannot imagine any of these three want to be on PP full time. PP does not pay close to what ABC pays and no one wants to take a major pay cut.
March 25, 201313 yr Member Hot ass mess. None of these people are worth all this trouble. Of course they aren't, but FRon think they are. FRon have no interest in GH so they are going to keep their OL any way they can. I cannot imagine any of these three want to be on PP full time. PP does not pay close to what ABC pays and no one wants to take a major pay cut. Especially for a show that possibly has less of a future than GH.
March 26, 201313 yr Member Y'all know I love OLTL (hence my screen name), but I love GH too and...this will not end well. At all.
March 26, 201313 yr Member I cannot imagine any of these three want to be on PP full time. PP does not pay close to what ABC pays and no one wants to take a major pay cut. They're going to be taking them anyway if they stay on GH long enough. But they are ultimately worthless to both PP and ABC, in acting and in ratings (the GH ratings were flat as a pancake for most of their biggest time in the sun), so all the fighting over them is asinine to me.

Let's not pretend this is the first time a show has shelled out money to hold onto no talents or wasted money to have people return who've long expired ***coughVanessaMarcilcough***. I agree that none of he 3 have done anything to help GH because characters don't save a show, a good well rounded show saves a show. However, this is nothing new. FRon are fighting to hold onto their favorites just like many of the "writers" from Daytime have over the past 10 years. My problem here is that PP is wasting a lot of time and energy over a battle they are going to lose because the actors don't wish to go. Time for PP to cut their losses and focus on OLTL 2.0 as a whole. Forget the 3 characters!
March 26, 201313 yr Member Again, you don't know that they don't want to be there for at least a short run. So let's not.
March 26, 201313 yr Member Again, you don't know that they don't want to be there for at least a short run. So let's not. Again, Roger agreed to a 4 week stint at OLTL 2.0 so he could return to GH AS Todd. His contract is up with GH this month, so why not take the opportunity to just go where you want to believe he wants to be? It's really as simple as that.

And do you really think that'll be the end of his time on OLTL? I don't, and I don't believe he did it just to get them off his back. I think they listed both him and Eden Riegel at AMC as contract cast because they mean to keep them as those actors' schedules permit. Edited March 26, 201313 yr by Vee

I think they listed both him and Eden Riegel at AMC as contract cast because they mean to keep them as those actors' schedules permit. I don't disagree with this. However, Cartini/ABC are realizing that sharing this character is not as easy as it sounds (something many of us have said from the jump), so Cartini are going to end it with recasting Roger as someone else if they have to. It is my understanding that KA and Easton begin filming on the 9th as new characters on GH.
March 26, 201313 yr Member New characters ain't gonna happen. Mark me, America. Not happening. It's just them trying to intimidate each other.

This mostly seems like pettiness and territory to me, from both ABC, and from our saviors. They want the characters and no one else can have them. If they spent half as much time properly writing for these characters as they do squabbling over them, then their characters would not be so poorly fitted into GH. I don't hate KA, but a bidding war over her? Really? That's the constant downside of "Cartini." They have jack all ability to write for their pets. Edited March 26, 201313 yr by CarlD2

Where we part ways? The actors/performers don't wish to go, so PP has no say in what they do. It was absolutely ridiculous of FRon to heavily feature characters that don't belong to GH/ABC, so now they have to be creative enough to create new characters. FRon and creative don't belong in the same sentence. This is the only reason I find it messy and ridiculous. New characters are created all the time, but here you have characters and romances that are very fresh. Is this a Dallas situation where it was all a dream? The PP/GH battle is blown out of proportion and that is ridiculous too. I only have limited use for Todd and if I never saw KA or Easton again, it would be too soon, but FRon don't wish to write GH w/out them, they won't have to because the 3 want to be on GH. FRon think they can work magic and don't feel embarrassed in the slightest over the Gigi Morasco Resurrection From Hell. That's the time you turn in your fake credentials and go back to law. I just wonder if they also don't want to even go for a week. Would KA say, "I'm not even going to film a week"? If so, that's her choice, even if PP still own the character, but that's hard for me to believe. Edited March 26, 201313 yr by CarlD2

If so, that's her choice, even if PP still own the character, but that's hard for me to believe. I think it's more to it than just a week. My guess is that PP wanted more (probably at later dates), and the 2 weren't willing to give it. PP was not paying any of the commuting costs or other expenses so that's another reason to turn them down. Roger's initial 4 weeks are supposed to last for about 2.5 months and I believe they wanted him back at some future dates. ABC/GH probably drew the line.
