Or a character who raped two (or more) women. It's just not my style of comedy. It's mostly degrading and cheap and strange, or just dumb. LOLerskates at Todd saying "LL Cool AJ," or whatever he said.

You can write comedy without believing your viewers are brain dead.

She sounds like she's high off some pills and booze...lol. Or maybe she has a mental disorderI dont that scene in particular was done for humor but KS's performance was so bad, that she just came across ridiculous

I dont mind RC attempting camp. My issue is that he takes it too far. Like the Lucy nonsense when she first saw John and stabbed him. I thought that was funny bc it was so over the top but it really should have lasted one episode. He went too far with it

Exactly, in the 80's I tuned in but mostly out of GH's campy storylines so I didn't see the alien and all that I can barely remember the Ice Princess. I can only do so much of it.

then there is good camp and bad camp there are times where campy should "not be included" like the hee-hee ha ha with AJ and Carly kissing for Todd's benefit that (for me anyway) is a pivotal moment in their horrid history and for it to be played for sh...and giggles didn't work (for me) as an AJ fan so I didn't find it that amusing; I wanted him to smack the [!@#$%^&*] out of her.

Why isnt John digging into why he and Caleb/Stephen looked exactly alike? The premise which got him on the show was bc his father cheated on his mother and had a secret kid. Wouldnt the logical thing to think here is that his father was doing more cheating than he knew and had another secret child, one which looked like him? Why isnt anyone assuming that they are brothers?

thats irrelevant and its own seperate issue. John knew his father had at least one child outside his marriage. Its perfectly logical that he'd have another. It makes no sense why he hasnt thought of this or even seem to be too bothered with just fighting a man who looked exactly like him.

I'm not saying that scene in particular was humorous regardless of KS' performance. I'm saying Carlivati's use of that same character, after having her do something so dark in and of itself (let's stop acting like a woman raping herself against a wall is LESS dark than anything Guza's done all because it's NOT Guza) as a source of comedy is a horrible attempt at levity or camp. It's poorly executed because it's mixed messages. "Yes, we want you to feel compassion for this character by having her re-enact her rape... but then, two episodes later, have you laugh at her because she's a horny slut trying to sleep with anything that moves!" The writing of women during BOTH regimes is godawful and the humor is lost because it's poorly written! I mean, hello! Carlivati's take on the Carly character was to have her strip down to her bra and panties in the middle of the hospital during his first couple of episodes!

    • They really did; I know the transition wasn't as beautiful as many thought it should have been, but at least with Mulcahey at the helm, I felt like there was going to be resolve at some point... even if we didn't know what it was at the time. Seeing everyone turn against Sonny, except for Ava (with her mysteriously nefarious reasons), was beautiful to see. Plus, Mulcahey swiftly fixed Alexis' law license issue that had dragged on far too long. Again, was it perfect? No. But did I get a sense that Mulcahey, if given a true chance, could have done some effective changes? Yes. Very glad to know I am not alone in this, and yes, Harper's chemistry with Sawandi Wilson's Isaiah has been lovely. But it seems like every time there is a viable match, TPTB nix it before it can truly begin.
    • Reading all the theories here and on twitter.  Someone wondered if June is connected to Leslie? So now we have June possibly connected to Hayley, to Samantha&Tyrell, or to Leslie. I love that we don't know! To be honest, I didn't think June was connected to any major character.  I thought she was simply a client who might prove to have an interesting backstory.  But then she dropped the photograph, so that has to mean something.
    • Thanks for the factoid, that's so interesting! (The character, though, was not, LOL. Ridiculous storyline). You know what? Even though he was a core family member, I think you are right. I would much rather they had kept Alan Michael on the canvas to represent the second Spaulding generation. (Of course, they would have had to write some good stories for the character, which, who knows if they would/could have). Reva, yes, I agree. Her shelf life expired when she drove that car off the bridge. The ever increasing desperation to keep her character relevant after she came back was very difficult to watch.
    • I don't suppose you have that August 4, 1995 episode @soapfan770 has with Hope throwing Nikki out of The Newman Ranch?
    • I have taken extremely long breaks from the show because of Sonny and I didn’t watch in the 90’s so I didn’t realize this was a crutch the show used all the time. Hell even though Maurice hates it, it was the most I could tolerate Sonny because he was written as the ass.hole he actually is at his core. His meds working again don’t erase all the characters I’ve either liked or accepted that I had to watch he and Jason murder and somehow come out as the good guys.
    • When I saw the pic of two kids on a stoop, I immediately though it was Samantha and Tyrell but that could be a red herring. The picture is quite old so maybe it is Hayley and June. This would help to bring Naomi back into Hayley and Bill's orbit. If June is Tyrell and Samantha's mother, that story would seem to be a dead end - unless Martin and Smitty adopted them through improper means. I did wonder if Anastasia is who Shanice has been chatting with during her shift. Her line to Ted about making her mouth even bigger? I was scandalized. Anastasia has to return soon.
    • I would DIE if Shanice’s mom lived beyond the gates and was just as messy I loved her so much. Give. Me. More. Absolutely loved this scene. Looking forward to more bonding between them. She is such a find. If her agents are smart, they’re booking her on bigger things as soon as possible. I want to see her blow up. She is THAT good to me. Ambyr and Trisha are the stars of this show for me and why I watch. Bingo. This show actually feeling like a soap that moves has made it so hard for me to watch the others anymore. I love you Thank god you said this. I wish we’d stop taking the bait but this needed to be said. White male leads cheat ALLLLLLLL the time. But this poster seems to think omg two black men that cheated decades apart are about to set us back somehow. I’m about to add them to the ignore list with Donna, I’m sick of the baiting. This was perfectly stated. Preach my friend, preach. As for yesterday’s episode I loved it. The show is handling the fall out from the Eva reveal so damn well for me. And I LOVED that Ted final scene holding Eva’s hand. I guess I’m in the minority since the recast announcement was made but I will miss Maurice and his chemistry with all of his costars as Ted and really wish he could’ve played the entire fall out of the story.
    • I would love to see it as part of a backlot shopping district where characters can bump into one another in a more natural way. Lately there has too much getting up and leaving then coming back during meals at Orphey's and Uptown. It's becoming a distraction. There could be shops, more restaurants and a coworking space. All of the "you will never be a Dupree" lines definitely are pointing to this. This is one of my favorite stories. I love stories about show business and MVJ has a background in the music industry so I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. Anita instigated the breakup - we have already seen her mean streak come out with Hannah and Eva. I expect one member (she called Sharon today) to be holding a grudge and another member (Tracy) to be somewhat bitter but more open to the idea of a tour, playing the role of peacemaker between Anita and Sharon. Maybe Sharon will pull a Mary Wilson and write tell-all about Anita.

    • I would have been more impressed if it hadn't been built on a con (Sonny's meds already being used to make sure he would be exonerated later on). The show has been doing this dance with Sonny since the mid '90s, including Mulcahey's previous stint. I almost prefer them just being honest, as Laura doesn't have a great deal of integrity to lose anyway. The problem is Sonny is just completely spent as a character. If he wasn't, we wouldn't have to see this comment from Laura again and again. He would actually be doing something on the canvas. Instead, he's written like he's already dead. If only.
