Agnes Nixon always said how if you tell a story *well*, issues like that usually won't matter and people will be compelled to watch.

Of course, I happen to agree. (Duh, lol.) I think it matters not a whit whether a particular gay love story trades on familiar -- and yes, dated -- tropes reserved usually for "straight" romantic couples. As a viewer, in fact, I'm at a point where I am willing and ready to welcome such a tale for a same-sex couple, if only because I think it needs to be told well before we can say these shows need to try something else. As a writer, though, you can't think about all that. All you can or need to think about are your characters. They have to tell you where they want the story to go; and however we, the audience, view it -- as bold and contemporary, or as old and cliched as the hills -- you have to worry about later.

Claire Labine (Head writer for: Where the heart is 1970-73;, Love Of Life, 1973-75;, Ryans Hope 1975-82, 1983, 1987-89, also EP 1975-82;, General Hospital, 1993-1996;, One Life To Live 1996-1998:, Guding Light, 2000-2001) always said that if you write great scenes, people will watch. ITA & have loved her since RH. Wish she was involved with OLTL again.

i'd rather have her back on GH.. Didn't really like her on OLTL, also I remember she didn't really like her time on OLTL either

I did. Well, most of them. Catching up on posts is always difficult for me, because there's usually too many to parse through. Why do you ask?

the ones on page 225 where i think Eric says some people were flirting with the whole Shane/Jack being a couple BTS

(I *do* think someone--RC, FV, the director, the actors, flirted with the idea in some scenes though and it's not just fans wanting teen slash fiction.)

Yeah I do--it wasn't all just fans wanting to see something that wasn't there. I'mnot saying they did this *much* but I'm sure they were aware when writing it...

"Dorian's" home - Only the Senator would say goodnight to
her oil painting likeness as she ascends to her bedroom.

"Lord Library" Christmas tree will go to the right
of the reading table as it has for over 40 years!

This is where "Clint" gets his coffee with a shot of espresso.

Outside the coffee shop - someday "Clint" will enter a scene on that bike!

When I saw the Coffee Shop set I thought it was a joke. AMC gets "Jane's Addiction," and OLTL gets "Coffee Shop"
