February 12, 201313 yr Member Within the last 50 years how many Soap Opera's have been canceled? Wikipedia has them all laid out real simple I forget the exact adress but its on Wikipedia they have the first soap (and tells you which ones were on the radio) just google or bing it or something it'll pop up
February 12, 201313 yr Member Lol that promo left out Jennifer Bransford's Carly. It's funny up until GW started writing Carly, I MUCH prefered her Carly to LW, even if she looked like a man.
February 12, 201313 yr Member I just need the answer for my thesis. I would look it up myself but it was toooooo many soaps on within the last 50 years So you want other people to do the work for you?
February 12, 201313 yr Member So you want other people to do the work for you? Yeah... Jean Randolph I know you don't mean anything bad by it, but it's a pet peeve of mine when people post on forums looking for info for a school project (be it college, jr high whatever) when it's information you could find just as easily as anyone on here. Since 1963? Do you mean American network TV soaps? Daytime only? Do syndicated soaps like Rituals count? I mean--only you can really get the answer you want.

February 12, 201313 yr Member The whole thing seemes pretty contrived because I don't think I understand what Duke has to offer the business world. AJ is an idiot, but he may be able to run ELQ. It's his legacy. Duke seems so out of place, so it has to be the set up to something else. WHat I didn't get was they had Duke of all people, after talking about being in a Turkish prison for 20 years, talk about how now the market wants homemade products, etc. He's been back in the real world for what--3 months? Though he did admit his computer skills were not up to par (would he even know how to use the internet, period?)

It was the same when Heather, who had spent the majority of the past 30 years, save for a few month in 2003, locked up, was realeased from Ferncliffe and knew how to work cell phones and computers well enough to doctor paternity results. He is a secret agent so I am sure he is a fast learner and a great critical thinker.

Fair enough, and I admit I can do that--it's something you do have to accept with soap storytelling. I guess it just felt glaring to me in this case, because they had him repeatedly point out that he had been locked away from society for eons--and then a second later...

And if you think about it, Todd is the same way. He was locked up for 8 years, so you'd think he'd be a little technologically slow. Granted, he was around until 2003, so he'd be familiar with cell phones and Internet, but things progressed a lot in his time away so it didn't necessarily make sense for him to seamlessly be able to step in and run a newspaper again.
