As a young pre-teen I LOVED that opening. It just seemed to show everything I liked in soaps. Now I see it as embarassing, but...

For me, the problem with the Rauch-era opening lies in its music, which is dated by its heavy synthesizers. Otherwise, I thought (and still think) it was clever of ONE LIFE TO LIVE to gives us "beauty shots" of RL places behind actors' profiles. It made Llanview seem more like a real locale.

Listen, SoapBoy, you know I love you madly. But you really need to give that a rest. People's patience on these boards have been tested enough these past few days, and I just think posts like this only fans the flames.

LOL, my OCD be testing me. This is a topic that appeals to me and I suppose it's my issue when I see that the thread is 12 pages deep and I feel the need to wade through all of them before adding my two cents without being repetitive.

I never thought I'd say this, but I think more fun could be had at SOC.

Listen, let me slap the sh!t out of you in a Christian way.

Not gonna lie, I went back and read through after I said that.

laugh.png . It does seem like a good topic, though, doesn't it? Honestly, I didn't think it would provoke the responses that it has.

You're not kidding about AS THE WORLD TURNS' final sequence. So cheap and hollow. Clearly, the sign of a show (and an EP) that just didn't give a damn anymore. Seriously, I could have done better with a damn Lite Brite.

Soap openings from the '50s-early '60s seem pretty simplistic...but what would y'all say was the worst (or best)?

I like Peabo but in all honesty it gets on my nerves and I'm glad they never brought it back. The lyrics don't even make any damn sense.
