My iPod's name is Thaddeus.

My Kindle Fire's name is Kendall Hart-Slater

My old iPod that I sold was named Todd.

And, the guitar I had that my ex-friend broke was named Stuart (After Stuart Chandler)

Also....One of my cats is named Cameron. After Matheson. But, I also call him Cam Winston after the Fraiser character.

LOL.

I always named my pets after soap characters when I was younger.

My cats were Sean and Tiffany ph34r.png .

I can't believe I forgot to mention earlier about how I would reenact Shane & Kim and Patch & Kayla with my dolls when I was like 7. ph34r.pngph34r.png

Before I actually started really watching DAYS the first I really knew of the show (other than knowing who Deidre Hall was from primetime and knowing of the show glimpses in magazines and award shows and the possession storyline getting a lot of talk) was porn-type fan fiction which involved Lucas Roberts as a huge manslut. The odd part is that when I actually did start watching the show I thought that would have been totally believable for the Lucas of that era (Reilly mark I).

I skipped so much school in grade 6 to watch Days and Y&R that the teachers were considering having me repeat the year, luckily I pulled myself together. It is embarrassing also for the fact that I never thought to video tape them until I got to High School even though we had a VCR at the time.

I still remember my mum angrily covering my ass by writing notes for every day I had skipped that year, she was especially angry when she found out why, and my teachers counseling me because they thought I had emotional troubles at home.

At least you didn't pass any of the stories off as your own personal troubles to get sympathy.

(I knew some people who did that...)

Do you remember any of the stories they used? That would be interesting, depending on the show and era of that show.

Not too much, no. They'd change it around. I think some of it was some of the AMC or GL young adults, since their stories weren't as centered on parents who were spies and kidnapped by international criminals.

When I was 13, I couldn't believe that there wasn't a website dedicated to Max & Gabrielle, so I made up a Word Perfect

(remember THAT ish?) file that I called my version of a Max & Gabrielle fan site where I put up a bunch of pictures of JDP, FH, and M&G together, so proud I was of a Word file I made because I didn't know how to make a real website.

I also called my so-called Word Perfect fan fiction site for them The Passionate Files...yeah.

I even wrote a BUNCH of fan fic in old notebooks of mine where I made up stories of M&G having a daughter named Anastasia (Stacey) and wrote myself a character named Lucy Buchanan who would come to Llanview (as a 13 year old, mind you) to find her long-lost

relatives (I guess Asa was her father? I was 13, okay?), and wound idolizing Gabrielle and shipping her and Max HARD.

I also created a long-lost daughter for M&G--Bianca, who they conceived right before Gabrielle was sent to prison, and who was

put up for adoption since Gabby couldn't raise her and didn't want to tell Max about her.

I once requested a RealPlayer slide show dedicated to M&G set to Bitter Sweet Symphony...and I got it. And I loved it.

I used to watch Max's final scene in 2003, where he winks to the camera, over and over again.

You should publish that stuff and just change the names. If Twilight fanfic can become a powerhouse then yours should do even better.

This thread is an eye-opener!

I did the usual -- got my mom to "tape" Days and Santa Barbara with an audio casette because we didn't have a VCR back in the day.

Oh, and I also transcribed an entire Sunset Beach episode from videotape because I wanted to learn how they constructed scenes using the A, B, and C stories, and how long each segment was (answer: not very long).

In 8th grade, an alum came to talk to us about her career -- she was costume designer for plays and soaps in NYC, namely ATWT and GL. I asked by FAR the most questions about her ATWT/GL work, not that I watched those shows at the time, but I was so excited about the soap connection. The bitchy girls in my class rolled their eyes to the point where my English teacher who was chairing the event told them off. I guess she was pleased to see me excited and invested in something, lol.

It was 1988 so I'm sure it would have been v interesting for you as a fan! Sadly, I can't remember specifics but she did talk about the logistics of dressing a wedding and its guests and interlopers. She also said that Jon Hensley was hot.

Thanks. I can't say I remember ATWT or GL for outstanding wardrobe, especially in those years, where most of the women dressed like they were 80 years old, but I'm glad you got to talk to her, sounds like a wonderful opportunity.

Yeah, P&G soaps weren't always known for their wardrobe. I think Daytime soaps as a whole were never that fashion forward, though Susan Lucci got dressed like the star she was and is. I also thought Santa Barbara had a glamourous (though now dated) wardrobe. And later, on Sunset Beach, Aaron Spelling got Nolan Miller (his designer for Dynasty) to dress a lot of the women like Lesley Ann Down.
