I agree, beebs!

And I'd love for all us to stay in contact and keep each other updated on our budding writing careers. wink.png

Wouldn't that be a treat. I still say the future of great soap writers lies primarily in this forum right here. Some of the ideas I see are ingenious and so full of creativity and passion for the genre. It's what people want to see on their screens and I just hope that talent doesn't get squandered.

I agree that this board is filled with savvy soap fans that possess knowledge, passion, and creativity to amount to something in the near future. I wanna let you all read over my story Bible eventually but I need to finish it, and register it with the WGAE.

Seriously this woman is always recruiting young writers and taking them under her wing.

As someone in the soap industry, I see more and more younger writers coming in, an increasingly large amount of whom have been fans. With only four soaps left, it is all about who you know. On GH, you see characters like Anna, Robert, Duke, Faison, Felicia, Lucy, etc. return because the current writing team grew up with those characters.

And that's not just in Daytime, but in other TV shows & movies. It's one of the reasons movies like The Smurfs, Transformers, & The Muppets and TV shows like Dallas, 90210, & Melrose have all returned. Children who grew up on these are now older and have worked their way up in the industry.

Which is unfortunate when you're in a different country and can't afford the move. Oh how I wish there was more of an entertainment industry in Canada.

If someone wanted to make a group, btw, I'd be all for joining, absolutely.

You'd be surprised how many of the soap writers are scattered across the country. It's rare to have writers regularly working at the studio nowadays.

Post the link on here and we should be able to join it. happy.png

Should it be Future Soap Scribes of America (FSSA) or Future Daytime Serial Writers of America (FDSWA)? We can also leave out the America.
