HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

BTW, since there's been no mention of Marissa (that I know of), it's easy to assume she and Bianca broke up... and Miranda & AJ were never "raised as siblings".

And I still like my aspiring fashion designer idea for Spike.

*At the Slater home... Zach is on the couch, watching the game and Spike walks by*

Spike: "Really?! You're really wearing that ratchet Red Wings Snuggie again? I mean, seriously?! Bitch, you need a makeover... like yesterday."

Zach: "Don't you EVER talk that way again to me, young man! You hear me?!"

Spike: *Running to his bedroom* "You're not my real dad and you never will be! *Bedroom door slams*

*dead* I hope and pray Spike doesn't become Ryan JR with how he acts

Chris Goutman is a perfectly fine director. But I'm sure Nelson and Jamey and others will use this to try and tear down AMC.

Jessica Klein isn't exactly a great writer. Does that mean OLTL is doomed?

Oh, dear God, no!

Spike is just being a rebellious teen, ready to bark at any adult. Spike turns out more like his mother's mother (MM), Erica Kane.

Erica adores him... and he turns out to be her favorite amongst her daughter's kids.

I could see that and would love it lol

I think Ian will be more stoic and rational compared to Spike and his cousins

Goutman directed at AMC for nearly 10 years and has WAY more directing experience than writing.

I'm fairly confident he'll be directing.

I bought the article and Goutman is directing. With Jessica Klein I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because OLTL has so much more going for it. Both HWs have a positive soap background (Horgan even has EP experience at OLTL!), plus they were able to get a solid cast back and their EP looks like a good choice. Of course we don't know how either will turn out, but--for me--I see more reason to get excited about OLTL than I do about AMC. I'm going to have to see AMC to believe it. It looks like a mess so far.

Can someone please [!@#$%^&*] summarize this crap instead of talking about it like it's obvious to the world when most of the world is not about to pay even $2.49 to read the rantings of Nelson Branco?

While we are all entitled to our differing opinions I certainly do not see AMC being a mess. Quite the contrary to be frank. AMC seems to be reinventing themselves going back to the basics...telling young love stories. We don't know who is in the final cast so we can't make assumptions until we know and even better than that until we have seen the product. I am remaining optimistic that both AMC & OLTL are in very capable hands and I am ready to take the ride with them both again.

What is there to summarize? I said I bought the article and followed up that he is directing. End of story.

I wasn't saying Jessica Klein is going to doom the show, in fact my point was the opposite.

Chris Goutman is just going to be a director. One of several. And he's a good director and was part of (IMO) AMC's best directing team. Some cast members even went to ABC in the 90s and recommended CG be promoted because they liked him so much!

If Goutman was joining OLTL as a director Nelson Branco would be the first one defending the decision to have him direct and blasting those ignorantly painting him as nothing but a show killer.
