There’d better be a goddamned GOOD explanation for whatever-number-Tennant 2.0-is changing clothes on us when we haven’t seen it before with all male Doctors and a far more embarrassing costuming from Sixth to Seventh. I mean, it’s not like Thirteem was ever wearing a dress, let alone when she/they regenerated! Why the costume change.

And I’m not normally one who cares about such unimportant crap, but Jodie was made out to be SOOOO important  because she was a woman and how dare anyone question anything about her era (I blame Chibnall completely, not Jodie, by the way) and then got such crappy writing and now KING David and KING Russell (he of the toxic work environment that led Eccleston to walk away and allowed the antics of Clarke and Barrowman to create hostile work environment) get to subvert a tradition they originally upheld with Eccleston’s leather jacket.

Train wreck is coming. I hope I’m wrong, but common sense is slowly reasserting itself.

Twitter is almost completely impossible to access or navigate for a non-user at present; only direct links to specific tweets work and you can't navigate a person's feed, read replies or view a hashtag at all at present. But there is this:

    • That definitely was her voice.
    • I was going to put this Lisa Brenner interview in the AW thread but I'm not sure she says much about AW in it. I admittedly skipped around a lot as the interviewer's style annoyed me.

    • Today was amazing, for so many reasons. Others have complained certain stories are dragging and others have rightly pointed out, the show only premiered THREE MONTHS AGO! Yes, the caps are dramatic, but I think they seize the moment appropriately. I have watched more than a few soap opera debuts. BTG, is by far, the best, first three months of a show, I have ever seen. MVJ, rightly, found the best in the business to avoid as my pitfalls as they could, to get the show settled quickly. They have found their footing. Is it perfect, no, but is it as close to excellence I've seen this quickly, yes. I loved today's scenes, particularly with Anita. That voice reading the letter, sounded like June

      to me.
    • GH has to be the only soap that still has a courtroom set and I appreciate that as I love courtroom drama on soaps.
    • Ahh ok, that makes sense. Gosh, I didn't remember Frances passing in 1994. I thought she was with us longer than that. She was such a sweet lady and character. Yes, so good and I'm so happy there is a quality version online. I looked it up and AMC won the Best Directing Emmy for 1994, so I have to assume they submitted these episodes. I'm not sure how to find out to confirm, but would only make sense. I still get chills watching it because I remember it so vividly as a 10 year old. Of course the drama of it all to see what happens to your favorite characters pre-spoiler days, but I grew up in the Midwest so tornadoes were a real, scary thing that. We had monthly tornado drills in school, so this made it seem very real to me. Very impressive. It makes me want to go find and compare the Mardi Gras explosion scenes and their second tornado many years later (although I think I remember that being a lot of CGI perhaps). I don't think I've seen those since they first aired. But for 1994, this was very well-done. Ahh - this was the start of Noah! And so many other great things - I really loved AMC from 91-96.
    • Speaking of slaps, there's the infamous Ed slapping daughter Michelle during the Maryanne Carruthers mess in 2003.

    • Tracy’s tossed-off line to Drew about being out of ketamine made me LOL. I feel like some funny gay guy is writing her one-liners lately.
    • Yes, I am aware of the ballyhoo about Michigan. But, I still do not understand & I will  endeavor to explain why. Do some of us think it was a real place in Michigan, because not thing ever gave me such an idea. I thought we all knew it was a fictional location & I am positive that Irna meant it to be just that.
    • It has come up in this thread before that early on it was specified that Another World was set in Bay City, Michigan, but somewhere along the line the references shifted to Illinois-ish.    I have tried and failed to find any specific clear reference to Michigan, although there have been some circumstantial details that suggest Bay City is not in Illinois. i notice that the AW Bible begins by describing the location as simply "not far from Oakdale", but things do change (the bible calls Pat Cynthia) and we can't take that as pure canon.
