Oh, for sure. Which I think is part of why the Black canvas is so incestuous and bland, but then most of the canvas sans Drew, Willow and Michael is. (Well, the incest part is still there)
There were also a fair amount of fans pissed when Emma returned much edgier and wild shortly before this time last year. I was all for it - you cannot improve on what Kimberly McCullough did with Robin, so it makes no sense for her daughter to be a carbon copy. I'd always wanted Emma to return a troublemaker. They've quieted her down a bit, but Bruner still has real talent and spikiness and it makes sense for Emma to continue to be in that young Brenda mold: A good heart, but ambitious, brash and at times a hellraiser who makes huge mistakes and does bad things.
That kind of pushback is not just the province of FB fans; some just have an image in their head of who this child or that one should be, though I disagree with it. But it's the audience FV cultivates that seems to just want non-soap non-conflict couples at times, and certainly nothing edgier from the characters of color. Or at least, that's what Frank thinks they all want.
