October 31, 20223 yr Member I’m sure RTD knows he has a lot to answer for with Martha. Like Billie Piper, Freema has also improved leaps and bounds as an actress since leaving, so I’d be interested in seeing her return.

I'm not really sure if he has ever addressed the ugly writing choices for Martha, especially the stereotypes of her father being a no-goodnik and leaving the family for a white woman, or them being forced to dress as servants. @Vee that's a wonderful writeup of the finale - you really put your all into it. Reading it I was reminded of how much I disliked Ten's regeneration, and that era's treatment of UNIT, and why I'm not really that thrilled to go back there, but clearly RTD was one of the only people who could possibly turn the show around, so you take what you get. I'm so mentally checked out of New Who that I haven't watched the finale yet and I'm not sure when I will, but a longtime fan I know offline enjoyed it too, especially the parts with Tegan and Ace and the returning companions. I'm glad it went down well and I will try someday.
November 11, 20223 yr Member A huge new issue of DWM contains a lot of new info from RTD and co.: They also reiterate that Tennant is the Fourteenth, period, and are going so far as to run a new DWM comic strip featuring Fourteen, I think this month. Russell also ruffled some feathers with this comment on why they didn't show Tennant in Whittaker's costume, which I can understand and I think he handled sensitively, but I also disagree - they should've just done it. I don't think so, I think she just is appearing in the Tennant/Tate anniversary specials. But who knows. Over on IG, RTD seems very chummy with Bonnie Langford in the comments on his post of this which makes me wonder if it's definite Mel is back for more during the anniversary.
November 18, 20223 yr Member Millie Gibson is Ruby Sunday: Quote Best known for her role as CORONATION STREET’s Kellie Neelan, 18 year old Millie was the recipient of the Best Young Performer Award at The British Soap Awards earlier this year. Millie has also appeared in dramas BUTTERFLY (ITV) and LOVE, LIES AND RECORDS (BBC). Speaking of her new role, Millie Gibson said: “Whilst still being in total disbelief, I am beyond honoured to be cast as the Doctor’s companion. It is a gift of a role, and a dream come true, and I will do everything to try and fill the boots the fellow companions have travelled in before me. And what better way to do that than being by the fabulous Ncuti Gatwa’s side, I just can’t wait to get started.” Ncuti Gatwa added: “Millie just is the companion. She is full of talent, strength, she has a cheeky sparkle in her eye and is sharp as a razor. From the moment she walked into the room she captured all of our attention with her effervescence and then solidified that attention with the sheer torque of her talent. This adventure is going to be so wild and so fun, I cannot WAIT to sail the universe with Millie!” Russell T Davies, Showrunner, says: “It’s the great honour of my job to find the next generation of talent, and Millie shines like a star already. She’s brilliant, dynamic, clever and a wonderful actor. As a CORONATION STREET fan, I’ve seen Millie survive chases, guns and sieges, but that’s nothing compared to what lies ahead for Ruby Sunday.” Recently, it was announced that the BBC and Disney Branded Television have joined forces to make Disney+ the new global home, outside of the UK and Ireland, of future seasons of Doctor Who. The new episodes of Doctor Who will return to screens in November 2023 to coincide with the 60th anniversary. David Tennant will play the Fourteenth Doctor for three specials, before Ncuti Gatwa takes over the role as the Fifteenth Doctor over the festive season. Doctor Who returns in 2023. November 19, 20223 yr Author Member Thanks, @Vee Millie is a very strong actress, which is why she was pushed into such a central role in Corrie so quickly. I'm a bit thrown by how much her getup there and demeanor reminds me of Billie Piper. I guess RTD can never let Rose go. Ruby Sunday sounds like an old porn name. Bonnie Langford on EE's online game show.
