I'm not really sure if he has ever addressed the ugly writing choices for Martha, especially the stereotypes of her father being a no-goodnik and leaving the family for a white woman, or them being forced to dress as servants.

@Vee that's a wonderful writeup of the finale - you really put your all into it. Reading it I was reminded of how much I disliked Ten's regeneration, and that era's treatment of UNIT, and why I'm not really that thrilled to go back there, but clearly RTD was one of the only people who could possibly turn the show around, so you take what you get.

I'm so mentally checked out of New Who that I haven't watched the finale yet and I'm not sure when I will, but a longtime fan I know offline enjoyed it too, especially the parts with Tegan and Ace and the returning companions. I'm glad it went down well and I will try someday.

A huge new issue of DWM contains a lot of new info from RTD and co.:

They also reiterate that Tennant is the Fourteenth, period, and are going so far as to run a new DWM comic strip featuring Fourteen, I think this month.

Russell also ruffled some feathers with this comment on why they didn't show Tennant in Whittaker's costume, which I can understand and I think he handled sensitively, but I also disagree - they should've just done it.

I don't think so, I think she just is appearing in the Tennant/Tate anniversary specials. But who knows.

Over on IG, RTD seems very chummy with Bonnie Langford in the comments on his post of this which makes me wonder if it's definite Mel is back for more during the anniversary.

Thanks, @Vee

Millie is a very strong actress, which is why she was pushed into such a central role in Corrie so quickly. I'm a bit thrown by how much her getup there and demeanor reminds me of Billie Piper. I guess RTD can never let Rose go.

Ruby Sunday sounds like an old porn name.

Bonnie Langford on EE's online game show.

    • The first time I cried from a soap, Zane's death. I cried for 3 days.
    • Very happy to see GH hit #1 on Hulu! The show's been on fire and deserves the added eyeballs.
    • I really appreciated all the movement in today's episode.  It resonated with me that it felt like the sort of nervous energy that can surround a family after death. I want to point out the EJ scene.  I was riveted by his multi-layered performance. When he told Belle that he went to her because he loved her, and then saw that she was embarrassed by him, and rejected the part of her that was attracted to him.  It started to make even more sense why he would try to protect Johnny (who I still don't think shot him).  EJ feels like a pariah (although TBH, it wouldn't have hurt to bring Marlena some of that tea that everyone had been promising her all morning).  And he doesn't want to pass that along to his son by exposing him as the shooter.  It is interesting that we see none of those same concern between Kristen and lil'Rachel.
    • -- What a stupid party. Devon and Abby leave while Victor goes upstairs to the GCAC bar and talks with Kyle. Then we see Jack giving Nikki ANOTHER birthday toast as if the party has just begun. Huh??? -- This party perfectly encapsulates sweeps month for this show: lame, deadly, boring af. -- Once again, Cole gets really sick and no one insists on an ambulance or the ER. They really want him dead, don't they? Instead we hear multiple characters say "Gee, I hope Victoria doesn't catch it." Cole will be dead before Dumas. -- Kyle is really offering to make a contract with Victor so he can continue to see Claire? Jesus Wept. -- And then the shoe ends with Victor praising Nikki for softening his heart over the years -- after we've seen him treat Kyle, Michael, and Jack like sh_it for days.
    • Your welcome! Will never understand the point of Budig! I forget she’s there 95% of the time and Thudley does too!
    • I do think Zane could have been a decent long-term addition if they hadn't disposed of him - up to Lucas' arrival, at least.
    • It is 4 feet!!! https://www.hulu.com/hub/tv/collections/9979 Today, GH, I am amazed. #1 Up from #2 on Saturday, which was up from #4 during the week last week.

    • If he was responsible for Egyptian dust, you should have led with that! That one thing cinches it for me.
    • I would consider recasting Nikolas again just for the sake of those around him, but you may be right.
    • Watched Mondays episode, wow! That’s all I have to say. It was heartbreaking to watch. You really don’t know how invested you are in these characters until moments like this. Deidre was absolutely phenomenal in that whole episode, as I am sure she will be in the coming weeks. I was a bit torn about having Bo and Hope being the contrast in this episode, but I understand why they did it. And when Bo woke up and said fancy face to Hope, it broke me even more! Honestly, there are no more words except bravo to everyone involved and RIP to the greatest hero that ever existed in soaps John Black
