Totally OT but - I could never get through an episode of Seinfeld. I do love me some Julia Louis-Dreyfus though.

I love her too. I keep missing it, but I've enjoyed the two episodes of Veep that I've managed to catch. Even more OT, but hers is my favorite Jiminy Glick interview:

I like Seinfeld too, it's not my favourite show of all-time and the last two seasons or so could have some down right dire episodes, but it was funny for the sheer stupidity of the situations/characters.

The last two seasons (the ones after Larry David left) felt like some odd little hybrid; there were some episodes that felt like the most ridiculous sitcommy things ever and others that were just too weird to describe.

I watched the show but I think it ran it's course. Larry David leaving most definitely had an impact.

I can say they did accomplish something. Not one of thhe main characters on that show were remotely likable yet the show was entertaining for a few years.

And yeah JLD VERY overrated.

To me the show did not drop in quality after LD left, which surprises me because I believe Curb Your Enthusiasm is a spiritual sequel which has surpassed the original... Seinfeld was my favo sitcom for years but I think Curb is better. Anyway I feel Seinfeld lost its moral core over time, not that it ever had much of one to begin with, but as the characters got more and more despicable I think it actually served to improve the show.
