This thread was created due to the constant war between OLTL fans and GH fans. And you cannot keep creating threads because you don't like what someone has to say, and its not nice to call people ignorant because they don't see things your way. How many 4 year olds have you killed on the road at night since it's so acceptable for a kid to be out at night alone?

I find some of the ignorance in this thread appalling. NO mother can watch their child 24/7. It isn't possible. Every single child on the face of the planet has, at some point or another, gotten away from their mothers attention and done something they weren't supposed to. Does that make it the mothers fault? Absolutely not. It wasn't even as if Jake ran outside and Liz didn't notice for hours. She noticed almost instantly, ran to the door screaming, and SAW him get hit by the car. It was NOT negligence - it was her being a HUMAN. No mother, no matter what they claim, can watch their children 24/7. And saying it's her fault Jake is dead is THOROUGHLY ignorant.

Only on General Hospital would the grieving mother get blamed for the child's death, while the drunk driver gets a free pass and a pat on the back.

But isnt that the purpose of the alternate thread which is so the clutter of this doesnt fill up the show thread and people can have the same discussions they've had for years.

I personally dont get the chastizing or crowing over any of these babies. Is it some blessing to be a mother on GH particularly the mother of one of Jason's kids? None of the mothers really get any story over it.

This will be the debate forever, and ever. When GH is off the air (next year) it will be remembered as the show with Elizabeth Webber, the most discussed and argued over character in history.

I have a response to this that I won't dare post. But I have to admit that I find the...enthusiasm around the character of Liz to be utterly fascinating. You don't often see characters who generate this level of feeling.

Jake's plot point death and Luke supposedly being a child murderer are two totally different things so its very possible to have one conversation without the other.

I think this was created because the monthly thread got away from discussing the actual show as it airs today. If thats not happening, I have no clue anymore.

So did I which was why my mom put a chain lock on the door that I couldn't reach. Kids will do that is not the question it is up to the adult to provide measures that make sure that it cannot be accomplished which is why parents childproof their homes.

Unfortunately, that's dangerous as hell. What do the kids do in case of a fire? Where my sister lives, three kids burned to death in a house fire. Their bodies were in front of the door that had a lock they couldn't open. Fire departments have asked parents not to lock their kids in because it's a terrible idea.

Hasnt the tone of this thread been mainly about complaining about the current state of GH and venting about Cartin and their reign of terror? I mean the opening post, created by you no less, is a direct shot at the OLTL influence on the show

Agreed. Most of the anger is confined to this thread which is what makes the other thread easier to just express every day opinions rather then anger or hatred over past storylines or hatred against characters past actions. This thread is doing exactly what it was purposed for.
